Top 500 BITSAT rankers with family income up to Rs 20 lakh to receive full tuition scholarship.

BITS Pilani Introduces Tuition Blind Admission Policy for Top 500 BITSAT Performers

Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani has announced a tuition-blind admission policy for the top 500 BITSAT rankers, ensuring financial background does not restrict meritorious students.

As per the official press release, candidates with an annual family income up to Rs 20 lakh will receive a full tuition scholarship for four years, provided they maintain a minimum CGPA of 7.5. The decision aims to make admissions more inclusive and merit-driven across its campuses.

What is The New Tuition-Blind Policy?

Under the new initiative, the top 500 rankers of BITSAT whose family income does not exceed Rs 20 lakh per year will automatically receive a 100% tuition fee waiver.

This is not a post-admission scholarship application. Instead, the financial support is built into the admission offer itself. Students only need to maintain a minimum CGPA of 7.5 during their course to continue receiving the benefit.

Prof V Ramgopal Rao, Group Vice Chancellor, said the goal is clear- “If you have the talent, money should not come in the way.” He added that the institute plans to expand this model further in the coming years.
