BHU Launches Three New Scholarships Under Pratidana Initiative; Check Details Here

New Delhi: Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has announced three new scholarships under its Pratidana Initiative. The three scholarships are one each for the Faculty of Education, Central Hindu Boys School, and Central Hindu Girls School. 

The scholarships were introduced from the donation received from corporate leader Rahul Srivastava in honour of his relatives: Bindhyachal Devi, Madan Mohan Prasad, and Bimla Srivastava.

According to the official press release, Rahul Srivastava called on the vice-chancellor of BHU, Sudhir Kumar Jain and conveyed his family’s admiration towards BHU and the role it has been playing not only in the field of education but also in shaping good citizens. The vice-chancellor acknowledged the kind gesture and generosity of Rahul Srivastava and expressed gratitude for the contribution made by his family.

What are the Scholarship Details?

We have discussed the three scholarships and their award money below:

• The Bindhyachal Devi scholarship provides a INR 25,000 annual award to a first-year Bachelor of Education (BEd) special education student at the Faculty of Education.
• The Madan Mohan Prasad scholarship and Bimla Srivastava scholarship are both Rs 5,000 annual scholarships for one student each from class 10 at Central Hindu Boys School and Central Hindu Girls School respectively. The scholarships will be awarded on merit-cum-means basis.

The Pratidana initiative of BHU aims to mobilize support from alumni and well-wishers to establish scholarships for deserving students, provide need-based financial aid, enhance learning opportunities, and promote excellence in teaching.
