Bhallamudi Ravi Takes Charge as New Director of NITK Surathkal; Check Details Here

New Delhi: As per the latest updates, Prasad Krishna, Director of NIT Calicut and additional charge Director of NITK Surathkal, conducted a brief ceremony to officially welcome Bhallamudi Ravi to his new position on June 15, 2023 (Thursday). 

Bhallamudi Ravi’s previous position was Institute Chair Professor of Mechanical Engineering at IIT Bombay. He is a well-known NIT Rourkela alumni who attended IISc Bangalore for his master's and PhD degrees. 

In addition to directing the Desai Sethi School of Entrepreneurship, he is well-known for his contributions to the disciplines of metal casting and medical devices.

Prasad Krishna expressed gratitude to the newly appointed director, Ravi, and said that "the NIT system as a whole, including NIT Calicut, uses NITK as an example. I am always delighted with my university, NITK, as a graduate”.

Adding to the statement, he shared, “I have no doubt that NITK Surathkal will compete with the top IITs in the NIRF India Rankings under Ravi's competent leadership. I have faith that the new director will accelerate the institute's development”.

Ravi expressed his gratitude to Prasad Krishna and all other parties involved in transforming NITK, Surathkal, into a renowned university, including the teachers, staff, students, and alumni. He asked for their advice and support in enhancing the institute's quality and influence.
