AP ICET 2026 Marking Scheme and Qualifying Criteria
The AP ICET 2026 exam follows a straightforward marking scheme with one mark awarded for each correct answer and no negative marking for wrong or unattempted questions. The total score is calculated out of 200 marks, and candidates must score a minimum of 25% (50 marks) to qualify for rank assignment and counselling participation.
However, this qualifying mark is applicable only to general category (OC) candidates, while SC and ST category candidates have no minimum qualifying marks requirement. The normalization process will be applied to ensure fairness across different exam slots, considering the difficulty level variations between sessions.
AP ICET 2026 Tie-Breaking Criteria and Rank Calculation Process
In case two or more candidates score equal marks in AP ICET 2026, APSCHE will apply specific tie-breaking criteria to determine their ranks. The first criterion considers higher marks in Section A, and if the tie persists, higher marks in Section B will be evaluated.
If the tie remains unresolved after both sections, the older candidate will be given preference in the merit list. The AP ICET rank is calculated using a normalization formula that accounts for the average standard deviation of each session and the overall performance across all sessions to maintain consistency and fairness in ranking.
