Centre for Research, Anna University has opened admissions for PhD, MS (By Research), and PhD plus MS (By Research) programs for the January 2025 session. Candidates working in Tamil Nadu Govt./Govt. Aided Engineering Colleges, Polytechnic Colleges, and Government/Private Organisations have to submit a No Objection Certificate.
The admission fee is INR 3,000 (one-time fee) and the tuition fee is INR 1500 per semester. Tuition Fee is exempted for Tamil Nadu State SC/ST/SCA/PWD candidates for full-time mode of study only.

Anna University PhD/MS Research 2025 Documents Required
Candidates have to bring the following original certificates and their self-attested photocopies for verification:
- SSLC Mark Sheet
- HSC/Diploma Mark Sheet
- UG and PG Degree Certificate and Consolidated Marksheets
- Community Certificate (for fee concession SC / ST / SCA candidates only)
- Service Certificate obtained on or after January 1, 2025 (applicable for part-time candidates)
- Relieving order from the employer (for full-time candidates, if employed)
- Transfer Certificate or Migration Certificate from the institute last studied (Original TC will be retained with the University)
- Differently abled candidates must bring a photocopy of “Certificate of Disability” obtained from the State/Central Government Medical Board for availing tuition fee exemption (if applicable).
- Valid scorecard obtained through NET/GATE (if applicable).
After the document verification, candidates have to pay the necessary fees immediately through online mode using Credit card/Debit card/Net Banking.
