New Delhi: AUD Vice Chancellor Anu Singh Lather has announced that professionals, practitioners and interested students can now pursue one or two full-time courses per semester at Ambedkar University without the need to enrol in any of the degree programs.
As per Ambedkar University, candidates can pursue the courses from the upcoming academic year without enrolling under the Competence Enhancement Scheme. The announcement was made by Vice Chancellor Anu Singh Lather on June 19, 2023 at a press conference.
Under the newly launched scheme, professionals can study as many as 143 AUD Courses offered across 14 schools of the university. The fee will be INR 3000 for 2 credit courses and up to INR 9000 for 4 credit courses. Most of the 4 credit courses will cost up to INR 8000.
The scheme is launched with the aim to "open up existing courses of the university to professionals, practitioners and members of society to enable them to (re)join higher education and revisit or explore their areas of interest”, the official notification reads.
Under the Competence Enhancement Scheme, participants from diverse backgrounds will have the opportunity to enrol in leading courses and learn from experienced faculty members. They can enhance their skills by enrolling in one or two courses per semester.
Informing about this initiative, Anu Singh Lather said, "The scheme aims to offer individuals from diverse backgrounds the chance to expand their knowledge and skills by enrolling in one or two courses per semester, which are being offered by the schools of Dr B R Ambedkar University Delhi”.
The courses will include two to eight credits and focus on key skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, academic writing, research skills and IT software training. Candidates can also study specialised courses such as Business Communication, GST and Statutory Compliances and Care Health and Nutrition.
To be eligible for admission, candidates need to meet the eligibility criteria mentioned in the course brochure. The seats will be offered to two to five students for the available courses. Candidates must note that the registration will be valid for a single semester only.
Selection of applicants will be based on past academic records and work experience in relevant fields. Shortlisted candidates will be further called for an interview round. The final merit list for admission will be prepared based on marks obtained by candidates in the interview.
