AKU Indore has released the Phase 1 provisional merit list for UG and PG Non-Technical admissions 2026-27 on May 20. Shortlisted candidates must report to the university by May 26.

According to the official admission counselling brochure released by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam University (AKU), Indore, the Phase 1 provisional merit list for UG and PG Non-Technical programmes for the academic session 2026-27 has been published on May 20, 2026. Candidates who appear on the list must complete their reporting formalities at the university by May 26, 2026. The two-phase counselling process covers all non-technical undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered by the university.

AKU Indore is a UGC-recognised State Private University established in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, and holds approvals from AICTE, PCI, BCI, COA, NCTE, and AYUSH for its various programmes. Admissions to non-technical UG and PG courses are conducted on a merit basis through a structured phased counselling process.

Phase-wise Counselling Schedule

The counselling for UG and PG Non-Technical admissions is divided into two phases. Phase 1 is currently active, with Phase 2 registrations set to begin within days of Phase 1 reporting closing.

Event Date(s)
Phase 1 Provisional Merit List Release May 20, 2026
Phase 1 Reporting at University Up to May 26, 2026
Phase 2 Registration Window May 28 to June 6, 2026

Who Can Apply

This counselling is specifically for non-technical UG and PG programmes. Technical programmes such as B.Tech (admission via JEE Main), B.Arch (via NATA or JEE Main Paper 2), and B.Pharm / M.Pharm (via GPAT) follow separate admission schedules. Candidates seeking admission to arts, commerce, science, management, law, education, and other non-technical courses fall under this counselling round.

Eligibility for UG non-technical courses generally requires passing Class 12 from a recognised board, while PG applicants must hold a relevant undergraduate degree. Candidates should verify the specific eligibility criteria for their chosen programme on the official AKU Indore website.

Reporting Process for Phase 1 Candidates

Students whose names appear in the Phase 1 provisional merit list must report to the AKU Indore campus in person before May 26, 2026. At the time of reporting, candidates are required to complete document verification and pay the applicable admission fees to confirm their seat. Failure to report within the stipulated deadline may result in forfeiture of the provisionally allotted seat.

Documents typically required at reporting include:

  • Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets and certificates
  • Graduation mark sheets (for PG applicants)
  • Category/caste certificate (if applicable)
  • Transfer Certificate (TC) and Migration Certificate
  • Passport-size photographs
  • Government-issued photo ID proof

Candidates are advised to carry both originals and self-attested photocopies of all documents.

Phase 2: What Students Who Missed Phase 1 Should Know

Students who could not register in Phase 1, or those who were not included in the Phase 1 merit list, can participate in Phase 2. Registrations for Phase 2 will be open from May 28 to June 6, 2026, on the university's official admissions portal. A fresh merit list will be generated after Phase 2 registrations close, and a separate reporting schedule will follow.

Merit-Based Admissions at AKU Indore

Unlike technical programmes that require national entrance exam scores, AKU Indore's non-technical UG and PG admissions are purely merit-based, relying on qualifying examination marks. This makes the counselling process more accessible for students who did not appear for CUET or other national-level tests, as long as they meet the minimum percentage criteria set by the university.
