Many lost their jobs and many could not plan their academic future as the AKTU delayed the results of COP conducted in December 2022 and January 2023 by 9 months. Read the full details here!
New Delhi: As per the latest updates, hundreds of students are losing their job opportunities and post-graduate admission seats as Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, also known as AKTU, has delayed the declaration of AKTU COP Results by 9 months.
Satyendra Singh, who was working as a medical representative, lost his job as he could not produce his BPharma marksheet. He completed his BPharma from a Lucknow-based private college affiliated with Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow in 2022.
Singh needed help to clear one out of four papers in the sixth semester of the third year of his course. To clear the same, he had to qualify the carry-over papers (COP) conducted by AKTU in December 2022 and January 2023. AKTU has yet to declare the results after nine months.
As students waited for the AKTU results, hundreds of students of different professional and technical programs like pharmacy, engineering, management, and more faced many problems as they had to put their future academic plans and careers on hold.
Many, like Satyendra Singh, lost jobs as they could not apply because they didn’t have mark sheets. Singh stated, “I got a job as a medical representative to promote and sell medical products to different healthcare facilities in April this year”.
‘However, the company asked me to produce my AKTU results. I lost the job as I am still awaiting my results. My career is destroyed and my relatives think I am a loser”, he further added.
The Uttar Pradesh government-run state university held the COP exams after the results of the regular courses were declared. Students must score at least passing marks to complete their course.
AKTU will declare the COP results soon, but no official confirmation exists. AKTU officials also did not respond to calls seeking comment so far.
Another student, Shivkumar Chauhan completed his BTech from a private engineering college in the Hapur district of UP in 2023. He lost two job opportunities due to the non-appearance of his AKTU mark sheet. Many students could not apply for various government and private jobs.
Not only employment but future academic plans are also on hold due to this delay. Kanhaiya Yadav completed BPharma this year from a private college in Meerut affiliated with AKTU. However, he failed to get admission to MPharma without the COP exam result.
Expressing his concerns, he said “Even if AKTU declares the results now, I have to wait for next year for admission. I wasted one year due to the delay.”
The AKTU university administration is yet to update the results and provide the mark sheets even for students who have cleared the COPs. In some cases, the updates are held up by bureaucratic hurdles. In consequence, student’s futures are ruined as well.
