  • For successful registration, candidates must register online, fill out the AILET registration form, upload scanned documents, and pay the registration fee. 
  • AILET 2026 registration fees are Rs 3000 for General and Rs 1000 for SC/ST/PwD candidates. BPL applicants from SC/ST categories are exempted from paying any fee.
  • Earlier, the exam was scheduled for December 7, and the registration was to start from August 1, 2025.

NLU has revised the dates for AILET 2026. Now, the AILET 2026 exam date is December 14, 2025 (Sunday) for the five-year LLB (Hons.) and LLM courses. The exam timing is from 2 PM to 4 PM.

How to Register for AILET 2026?

This year, AILET 2026 registration form is available on the official website – nationallawuniversitydelhi.in from August 7, 2025, onwards. Create an account using your name, email address, and applicant type. You’ll receive a confirmation email/SMS with the login credentials. Fill out the application form with all necessary details, upload scanned copies of passport-size photo and signature, and pay the registration fee.

What is the AILET 2026 registration fee?

AILET 2026 registration fee has been revised. Candidates have to pay an application fee of Rs 3000. The application fee for SC/ST candidates and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) is Rs.1000.

  • SC/ST and women candidates who are Below Poverty Line (BPL) applicants are exempted from paying the application fee.

AILET 2026 Exam Date

AILET 2026 exam date is now scheduled for December 14, 2025. Initially scheduled for December 7, 2025, it was rescheduled due to a clash with CLAT 2026. The exam will be held in a single shift from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM for admission into Five-Year B.A.LL.B. (Hons.), LL.M., and Ph.D. Program.

How many times can I appear for AILET 2026?

There are no limitations on the number of attempts in AILET 2026. Candidates belonging to any category – General or Reserved – can appear for the exam provided they fulfil academic and age limit criteria.

I uploaded a blurred photograph/signature while registering for the exam. How should I make corrections?

You can make corrections to the AILET 2026 application form in November 2025, when the correction window will be opened after the completion of the application. The correction window will be open for 3 days, and you must correct within the specified time.

Is AILET harder than CLAT?

Yes, AILET is generally considered tougher than CLAT. Since AILET is just for NLU Delhi, the level of competition is extremely high for the very few seats. Candidates have to answer 150 questions in 90 minutes for AILET, whereas for CLAT, you have to answer 120 questions in 120 minutes. 

  • AILET has more conventional question patterns, while CLAT is comprehension-based.

  • AILET rewards accuracy and precision, while CLAT requires speed and reading ability.
