Ahmedabad University Set to Host 5th Annual Economics Conference on January 5-6

New Delhi: Ahmedabad University is preparing to organise its two-day 5th Annual Economics Conference on Machine Learning in Economics from January 5 to January 6, 2024. The conference will be held on the central campus of the university and will be attended by industry experts.

As per Ahmedabad University, the Annual Economics Conference offers participants an opportunity to learn from academicians, explore cutting-edge research, and gain insights into industry trends. Students will ask questions and interact with speakers at sessions and industry panels.

The university has accepted research papers from students, PhD scholars, academics and other professionals which will be discussed during the conference. The last date to submit articles was October 31 and approved paper authors were notified by November 10, 2023. The Best Paper Prize will be awarded to one of the presented papers.

Ahmedabad University would provide food and lodging during the meeting and the travel expenses would be compensated. The conference will cover a special session on "Introduction to Machine Learning in Economics," by Sugat Chaturvedi, professor at Amrut Mody School of Management, Ahmedabad University. 

The session will be held for 2 hours on January 5, 2024. “This course will give a brief introduction to Machine Learning (ML) methods in Economics, describe some applications of ML, discuss fundamental concepts, and explore one application of text classification,” the university said.
