  • Students'll choose their specialist area in behaviour analysis or community psychology. They'll develop a detailed understanding of the underlying ideas relating to their chosen area, as well as learn about the fundamental principles and guiding values connected to their specialist field.
  • During their Master of Applied Psychology studies, they'll be given opportunities to gain relevant hands-on experience. This will be through getting involved in work placements and projects, where you'll be connected with a range of organizations and community groups.
  • The type of workplaces students will be placed in depends on the specialist area they've chosen. They could have a placement in an educational environment such as a school, university or special education venue.
  • They may do a project at a research institution or in private practice. Perhaps they'll work with business and industry, or in the health sector. They may have a placement in a governmental agency, or if it fits in with their specialist area, a zoo.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

  • Admission to year one of the MAppPsy requires a bachelors degree with a Psychology major, with at least a B grade average across the 300-level Psychology papers which make up the major, and:

  • passed PSYCH307 Research Methods (or an equivalent course)
  • for the Behaviour Analysis programme, a pass in the undergraduate course PSYCH314 Behaviour Analysis (or an equivalent course) or
  • for the Community programme, a pass in the undergraduate course PSYCH302 Community, Culture and Diversity (or an equivalent course)

Indian Student Eligibility:

Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Graduates of Indian central, state, or leading deemed and private universities.

Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, tests required to study in the Netherlands, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test.
