From an accounting perspective, students will look at the financial information required to run any organization, and the information flow needed for managers to make business decisions. And of course, control is a key element here: students will learn how to use monitoring and reporting to make sure that organizations are governable and performing in the right way. 

Because accounting touches every part of any business, the program will prepare students for many different roles – from the controller or external/internal auditor to tax inspector or banking supervisor. Whichever path students choose, they will need to know how to put their accounting skills to good use professionally, responsibly, and ethically.

The Master Accounting and Control prepares students to embark on a career as a preparer, user, or auditor of accounting information. By considering the technical aspects of accounting in relation to the institutional setting, in relation to ongoing developments in information technology, and in the light of relevant academic research, students will learn to consider issues in accounting and control at an advanced academic level. Throughout the program, students are encouraged to reflect on issues of responsibility for accounting information, including integrity, ethics, and compliance.
