The Master's in Philosophy at the UvA is a one year programme and the most inclusive of its kind in the Netherlands. It allows students to comprehensively tailor the programme to their own interests, first selecting at least 30 credits of courses offered by the Department of Philosophy and then writing a Master's thesis in the second semester.
The Master's programme Philosophy comprises 60 ECTS credits:
- 42 credits for core courses and electives
- 18 credits for a Master's thesis project
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students should have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized research university;
- Students should have at least 3.0-grade points.
- Submission of GMAT / GRE scores report.
Indian Student Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
- Graduates of Indian central, state, or leading deemed and private universities.
- Applicants must have achieved a minimum cumulative 1st division or better across all years of their studies.
Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, tests required to study in Netherlands, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test.
