University of Amsterdam Admissions Decision

University of Amsterdam usually announces their admission decisions within one to two weeks of receiving the application. However, if your application is incomplete, you will hear from the department within 10 to 12 days. After this, you will have to submit the incomplete documents, and this process can take some extra time.

University of Amsterdam Selection Criteria

University of Amsterdam acceptance rate is just 4% for international students. The odds of getting accepted here are extremely low, with a tough competition among students as well. The graduate applicants are required to have a minimum aggregate score equivalent to the Dutch grade of 7.0 to be eligible for admission. Undergraduate applicants do not have a minimum score requirement.

International students have to submit proof of English proficiency. The commonly accepted tests are IELTS and TOEFL iBT, with minimum scores of 6.5 and 92 respectively. MBA and graduate applicants also have to submit their GMAT scores with minimum scores of 560. If GMAT is unavailable, students can submit GRE scores with at least 152 in quantitative reasoning. Other factors considered by the admissions committee include letters of recommendation, personal statements, and students’ resume.

Once accepted, students are required to pay the initial tuition fee amount to secure their seat at University of Amsterdam. After this, students can move ahead to apply for their student visa in Netherlands along with work permit and accommodations.
