What Students Say
Likes
- The best program in my field + collaboration with IBFD + strong network.
- The quality of teaching, the quality of assignments, the infrastructure, the library facilities, the network, the alumni reach out program, the quality of thesis mentorship etc. Overall a good experience.
Dislikes
- Lack of support for placement, especially during the corona time. No response to requests for contact referrals by professors, no response on offerings to guest lectures by alumni, some professors are not flexible enough for understanding the conditions of students whole reviewing and supervising thesis
Overall, an excellent experience. Certainly recommend other students join this program. I understand that placements have improved in the time being. Course is doing well. Stressful studies, but worth it because the information is directly relevant for the jobs at hand. Very useful for post study opportunities, primarily due to network effect.
Course Curriculum
The course was excellent. No doubts about it. A pleasure studying in the university on international tax law.
Faculty
Good ratio. Around 7 to 8 profs for 28 students. And then, there were guest faculties, and profs from IBFD. Quite technical.
Campus Life
Did not get to do campus life etc. There were clubs etc, but except for stand up comedy, did not get the chance. Also due to corona. Excellent library including online library of both UvA and it's partner institute, IBFD.
Placement
So this part was disappointing. They did not support even one student for getting placement, more so because we needed the most help during covid. People get jobs between €2500 and €4000 gross in Amsterdam. Other countries have other market rates.
Accommodation
We got accommodation from a university partner housing company. So we managed to get it with all my Indian friends. Need to apply on time as soon as the portal opens. Practical fees for rent, after student discount - €417 per month.
Exams
The application was purely CV based. No interviews. Industry experience and knowledge chops were more important. CV, SOP and LOR are required.
Fees
€16,000
