The University of Amsterdam (UvA) offers undergraduate degree scholarships to international students except to applicants belonging to the EU/EEA.   • The student must not have received a Dutch grant or loan.
  • Basic English language requirements:
    • TOEFL IBT - 100
    • IELTS - 7 
    • Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English - A C1 of 190
  • Test scores for the English language should not be older than 2 years.

A non-EU/EEA passport bearer who has sought admission to the University of Amsterdam for a degree course may apply for the Amsterdam Merit Scholarship. The Amsterdam Merit Scholarship (AMS) has several deadlines depending on the faculty or graduate school.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Candidates must be non-EU/EEA passport holders 
  • For students pursuing UG degree in child development & education, communication science, economics & business, humanities, law, medicine, psychology, science and social sciences.
  • The student must have submitted a complete application form for the course.
  • Students must earn at least 80% of the required credits in a year to maintain their AMS benefits.

  • An overall GPA of 8 out of 10
  • English language proficiency scores:
