What Students Say
Likes
- My course program International Relations had the best faculty with years of experience in the field, the course work was structured flexibly and there were many options to choose from in the field of electives.
- Very accommodating of student needs. The teachers in my course were always available to help and solve queries. The coursework was very comprehensive and the teachers were well-qualified to teach their respective subjects.
Dislikes
- There is nothing specific since I had a very positive experience at the University. It is not to say there are aspects that are not desirable however I have not experienced so not the best person to answer.
Required Exams for Admission
It was really a good experience and I must for IR, I truly recommend Dublin City University.
Course Curriculum
The course Curriculum was very comprehensive and regular tests and assignments were conducted and we all had written a 15,000-word thesis on a topic of our choice.
Faculty
Faculty to student ratio is not ideal for compulsory courses and electives. No of the students are high. The faculty is very approachable via email and office hours. For me Dr. Catriona Dowd and Dr. Kenneth McDonaugh were two faculty who were very approachable.
Campus Life
Campus life is very awesome with various activities available like get-togethers, sports, debates are available.
Placement
The University has a placement cell to co-ordinate various job opportunities for students and lot of on campus placement opportunities are available.
Accommodation
Accommodation is a challenge in Dublin with hostels on campus the preferred option. Since outside rentals are equally costly. You can get single and double rooms. Approx rate 3000-3500 Euros for 1 Semester in Campus Accommodation.
Exams
Should be a graduate of a recognized University and IELTS is mandatory to qualify and I scored 7.5. I submitted my SOP, LORs, and CV for the admission process. No interview is required. Key points mentioned in my SOP talked about how my past education shaped my decision to enroll in the program, why I wanted to do this program, and what kind of future I envision for myself when I complete the course. My extracurriculars and the voluntary services that I did.
Fees
15,000 Euros
Scholarship
My University Dublin City University offered me a partial scholarship of 2000 Euro on the full application fee. No separate application is needed, it is offered to all candidates on merit.
