- Media informatics is an applied computer science that deals with the increasingly digital information processing in the media and the consequent growing together of modern concepts of computer science, digital communication technologies and multimedia.
- Studying media informatics is a variant of studying computer science. In addition to the classic elements of computer science, the training is more application-oriented and less theory is taught.
- Media informatics contains design elements, integrates other disciplines and provides a more intensive overview of multimedia technologies. It is not just about using existing software for media editing, but above all about understanding the principles behind it and the ability to develop multimedia software.
