This degree program is unique because It combines the expertise in empirical economic research and economics from the faculties of economics at the three UA Ruhr universities with the methodological training at the Faculty of Statistics at TU Dortmund. By bundling training and research competencies, it thus offers a specialized curriculum covering a broad range of econometrics and economics subject areas.

Ruhr-Universität Bochum (RUB) does not charge tuition fees. The students must only pay a semester contribution fee of about $401 per semester. This fee includes free use of public transport in North-Rhine Westphalia, and reduced prices for food and beverages in the cafeteria (Mensa) and canteens.
