- The subject of picture and art history is dedicated to a rich visual and artistic tradition that extends from the early Middle Ages to the present. In addition to the classic objects of art history (paintings, graphics, sculptures, handicrafts, architecture), the number and variety of images that are not considered works of art are also taken into account.
- The aim of the course is to impart basic skills in the scientific handling of images. In addition to the correct historical classification and the convincing interpretation, this also includes thinking about what distinguishes pictures and works of art from other forms of expression and how they shape our access to the world.
