- German universities offer quality education at 1/3rd or even 1/4th the cost of american colleges. I already was learning German, and being a mechanical engineering student, it seemed like the right choice for me. null
- State of the art infrastructure, low tuition fees, happening student life, student benefits, world class research in numerous fields. These are the major plus points. null
Dislikes:
- Weak placement support, the courses are in english but the job market demands german language. Students are not made aware of this. Almost no lab work is included in the curriculum, even for production-related subjects. null

My course has been discontinued and replaced by a renewed syllabus under the name 'MSc Networked Production Engineering'. This course has more flexibility and verticals to choose from. Industrial or hands-on experience was not included in the syllabus- you are expected to take up student jobs at the uni for that exposure.

It’s worth mentioning that the courses are not a cakewalk rather they are quite challenging as the end goal of the university is to help students to be the master of the subjects that they are studying. null
- Its also not very easy to secure a place at RWTH Aachen University that easily as the application documents are scrutinised by the best of the best professors and only if they find your background, DGPA, internships, and SOP relevant and good enough then only you secure a place. All in all the college grooms you according to the industry standards and make you ready to tackle any real world problems. null

- It’s worth mentioning that the courses are not a cakewalk rather they are quite challenging as the end goal of the university is to help students to be the master of the subjects that they are studying. Its also not very easy to secure a place at RWTH Aachen University that easily as the application documents are scrutinised by the best of the best professors and only if they find your background, DGPA, internships, and SOP relevant and good enough then only you secure a place. null

The course curriculum of my particular course is very much updated with the modern trends like big data and artificial intelligence and deep learning. I will also like to point out that our course is more like a hands on project which helps us to cultivate the basics of various subjects from the ground up and building a stronger base as we move forward.

- My University and course is mainly for those student aspirants who like to advance a career as Data Analyst or Data Scientist. This is also focusing mainly on students who did bachelors in Non - CS or IT background. There is also a mandatory internship in course curriculum which give us a work experience in Germany leading to getting a full time job in Germany as Data Analyst or Data Scientist. null

- The course is bit more towards Optimization and Heuristics. The courses related to Deep Learning and NLP is bit less compared to the industry standards. There are less hands on projects in master courses. There are some courses which can be put into electives .

- RWTH Aachen is one the best ranked universities for mechanical engineering, and it was a no-brainer to choose it and my course once i received the opportunity! Although my course wasn't free, it was quite affordable compared to other universities in Europe and the United States. As previously mentioned, the amount of research opportunities are high and I was able to choose a track that reflected my interests. Finally, once you know the German language, the job market is also good, and studying in RWTH Aachen will give you an additional boost! .
- There was a plethora of student assistant and research opportunities, available at any field you are interested in. The timings were flexible and there was no restriction on the total duration of the study. The university professors were very supportive and are willing to help you with any problems with the subject. null
Dislikes:
- The examinations were extremely hard, and some went beyond challenging! It needs to be noted that studying in a technical university will take away most of your time, leaving you less for your personal stuff (when compared to FH universities). The university was also spread across the city, unlike those that are bounded within a campus. This sometimes resulted in annoying transport between the classes. null

The course syllabus is regularly updated. The university added new subjects like Artificial Neural Networks in mechanical engineering! The industrial exposure is limited, unless a student is willing to take up a research work and connect to an external institution.

- I chose to pursue my Masters in Germany because of its reputation in having the highest standards of Engineering and Science. The education is Germany is nearly free with zero tuition fees, thus an economic vantage to pursue higher education here. Being one of the TU9 Universities, RWTH Aachen receives a lot of Federal funding, thus making it a good research hub. null
- Also, RWTH Aachen has the reputation of providing a very international environment comparatively. Also, the vast alumni base of RWTH Aachen is something one can tap to build a good network. All in all, these were reasons enough to choose RWTH Aachen as my destination pursue my master’s studies. null
- RWTH Aachen, situated in western part of Germany, is one of the TU9 Universities. The University provides an international environment to support your interpersonal growth in parallel with your education. The different Chairs at the University provides with a plethora of opportunities to pursue different research avenues and gain experiences that could help an individual to learn relevant Engineering skills. null
- Apart from the research opportunities, great labs, and awesome environment, RWTH Aachen has one of the best set of Professors that I have come across. The way education is imparted here is very intuitive. The alumni base of RWTH Aachen is also very broad and spread across the globe. Almost all the alumni from the University hold a very reputed position in various Engineering and Management giants. null
- This in-turn provides a great networking opportunity to an individual. Also, the semester ticket provided by the University for the semester contribution allows one to travel across the huge state of NRW for free. The town of Aachen is cute and welcoming, with a relatively international crowd. Also, sharing the border with The Netherlands and Belgium, Aachen allows one to explore these two EU nations with relative ease. null
Dislikes:
- There is not much to dislike about the University. Although, the genuine impression on the education system of Germany is that it requires some effort to complete your degree. The subjects are taught in great details. Being a TU (Technical University), the courses taught here are research oriented. The course structure is very vast in both length and breadth. null
- So, one needs to put in genuine efforts to understand the concepts to clear the subjects. Also, there might be some pre-requisite course from the bachelor’s that one needs to take to be eligible for their thesis work. This can be a bit overwhelming as they are bachelor level courses and seems to be a bit tougher. null

The course syllabus is vast. One needs to make sure that they put in real efforts in understanding the course content. The syllabus is up to date as RWTH Aachen is at the center of Research. The University has a lot of collaboration with the Government and the Industrial giants for technological advancements. So, the course content is advanced. The topics are research based and one gets enough exposure to work on mini projects to enhance their knowledge further. But one needs to be really proactive when it comes to finding relevant research topics and gain experience. The course content is very much relevant to the Major one opts for.
Fees
There is no tuition fees. Although, there is a semester contribution of roughly 310€ and one gets a semester ticket that allows one to travel across the state of NRW for free.

- Many distinguished professors work at this university (e.g., Wil van der Aalst for Data Science, Bastian Leibe for Computer Vision, etc.) and attending their classes is a unique opportunity. null
- Moreover, as a Master Student, there are many opportunities to work up to 20 hrs/week as a student assistant (not doing mundane work, but working on scientific topics relevant to your studies). The renumeration is pretty good and you can expect around 1000 euro per month. If the job is related to computer / computational science, you perhaps won't need even German for your work. null
- For a candidate in a PhD program, most faculties provide a proper Salary that is competitive (or even sometimes more than) what you get in the Industry. If you are funded full time on a public service contract (TVL E13), one can expect a take-home salary starting from around 2900 euro per month. The salary increases every year by roughly 5% and there are christmas bonuses. null

- The administration authorities (e.g., HR) mostly speak only German. null
- Sometimes, you have to struggle to get an appointment at the foreign office when you want to extend your residence permit. null

- It's quite welcoming and supporting with the International students. My University provides lots of opportunities to excel in the respective fields of the students and it provides various aids to support the education of the students. Apart from this, they also help with accommodation facilities. null

- There is nothing specific to dislike about my university since it's quite welcoming and supporting with international students. So according to my point of view, it depends upon the students how they overcome with hurdles instead of criticizing the University. null
