Technische Universität Ilmenau International Student Admission
Technische Universität Ilmenau welcomes applications from all over the world. International students can apply online through the university’s application portal. International students have to demonstrate their German language proficiency as almost every program is taught in the German language. However, some of the master's programs are also taught in the English language. For such programs, applicants have to submit proof of English language proficiency.

Technische Universität Ilmenau also offers an academic preparation course (APC) for students who do not have enough knowledge of the German language. The course is an intensive German course, starting at B1 level in the CEFR, and usually takes one or two semesters (a maximum of 4).

The university asks for proof of English language proficiency because some of the master’s programs are taught in English.
German Visa for International Students
After receiving the acceptance letter from the university, applicants can apply for a German student visa at the German Embassy or Consulate in their home country. Applicants must submit other documents related to Immigration status.

Technische Universität Ilmenau Undergraduate Admissions
For undergraduate admissions at Technische Universität Ilmenau, international applicants must submit their secondary school certificate in either German or English translation and proof of German language proficiency.
- Applicants must evaluate their certificates on the database „anabin“ (only in German), which is a service offered by the Kultusministerkonferenz of the Federal Republic of Germany.
- Students can access this database and check whether their secondary school- certificate enables them to study in Germany.
Note: If the secondary school certificate is not equivalent to the German Abitur, then students will get admission to the preparatory college Staatliches Studienkolleg in Nordhausen, where they will spend one year preparing for study in Ilmenau.

Technische Universität Ilmenau Graduate Admissions
For admission to master’s programs, students must possess a BSc or BA degree in a similar field with at least 180 credits on the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). Students must also demonstrate their German and English language proficiency. The university will then inspect the application documents and will conduct individual interviews.

Likes:
- The tution fees for the university is very less when compare to other university , and also the cutoffs marks for getting admission are not so high .
- The university have a wide variety of research and masters courses, there are also few of them in English too. The overall syllabus for each courses is very well structured. Exam patterns analyze students critical thinking, problem solving, perception, etc.. these are the few things I like about the university .
Dislikes:
- English taught programmes are very less, so the choice of selection will be less for those who understand only English, Even though there are lots of programmes for study , job opportunity/research opportunity for some courses after graduation are not very shiny. null

University experience in abroad was unique and I really enjoyed it , There are lots of opportunities to find your talent and nourish it.

- To be honest, I filtered some Universities for me and applied to all of them, I didn't receive replies from all but I got accepted at TUI which was also unbelievable for me as it was a Technical university and it has more importance in regards if one wants a career in Research. null
- As I got an admission to the university, it was covid period. The classes were online. Still, teachers supported very well in all aspects, we used to have presentations, projects, research papers and reports. So, study was not compromised at all. null

- I didn't find anything as such, that I did not like about Technical University of Ilmenau. Also, I am aware that students are concerned about Racism, but personally I never experienced such things. And still if any student does face it, then there are organizations in the university where it can be reported. null
Overview
It was awesome as I learned a lot there. Especially living alone and managing everything. University went very well and I did participate in various events, exhibitions and parties too.
