What Students Say
Likes
- Small campus, so faculty is easily accessible.
Dislikes
- Since it is a small campus and a small town, limited housing and part-time jobs.
Required Exams for Admission
The reason why I chose this is due to the interdisciplinary and industry-ready course structure. It has courses on state-of-the-art technologies like 3d printing, Autonomous driving, robotics and ARVR. Job perspective was also higher in this course and the course structure was only 3 semesters.
Course Curriculum
The course curriculum is great. It's an industry ready course and learn what we need in the employment. So I'm highly satisfied with the course curriculum.
Faculty
Prof. Ing. Frank Denk and Prof. Ing. Peter Firsching were one of the esteemed faculty and they had a great impact on me. I'm not really sure about the student-faculty ratio. It was okayish then. I believe there are a lot more students now than earlier.
Campus Life
It's a bit complicated. My course is offered on two campuses. The main campus is good with good connectivity and opportunities. But the campus where I studied, called 'Cham' is a really small town and it's difficult to find an apartment or part-time jobs. It's a challenge living here. But coming to a foreign country is always a challenge.
Placement
There is no concept of placements here in Germany. Even though we study at the top universities, no company hires us directly. We need to apply on our self and usually, universities help us in this process. Overall, its a challenge finding a job, but not impossible.
Accommodation
I lived in a studio, it was 350 Euro per month. I later moved to a bigger studio when my wife came to Germany as a dependant. I paid 420 Euros for this bigger studio.
Exams
- The requirements change from time to time. I was asked about IELTS. I also submitted my GRE score. I scored 7/9 in IELTS. My GRE score was 305/340 - SSC- 78.66% St. John's Secunderabad, Intermediate - 85.2% - Narayana Jr. College, B.Tech- 80.39% - JNTU-Hyd, M.Tech 7.82/10 - NIT Warangal - Yes, I had to submit SoP, 2 or 3 LoRs. We need to be a bit straightforward with what we write in SoPs. Do not complicate it as we do it with US applications. These people are not so good with German, so be simple and direct. LoRs - I submitted both from my university and my employer. It helps. Make sure the referrer is contactable. - Yes, I had to write an exam to go through the process for one of the courses in which I got admitted. Now almost all courses have exams.
Fees
There was no fee. I only had to pay a semester fee of around 55 Euros per semester.
