What is TS DOST 2026?
TS DOST stands for Degree Online Services, Telangana. It is the single-window centralised online admission platform run by the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TGCHE) for first-year undergraduate degree admissions across the state. Every year, TS DOST manages admissions to BA, BCom, BSc, BBA, BCA, BSW, and other UG programmes at government, government-aided, and private degree colleges across Telangana. The Centre for Good Governance (CGG) runs the technical infrastructure of the portal on behalf of TGCHE.
Admissions are based entirely on merit — there is no entrance exam. Your Intermediate (Class 12) marks determine your rank in the merit list, and the seat allotment follows from your rank and your web options (preferred colleges and courses). In 2026, TS DOST covers 978+ colleges and offers more than 4.20 lakh seats — a 13% increase over the 2025 cycle. Nine universities across Telangana are covered, including two newly added institutions: JNTUH and Veeranari Chakali Ilamma Women’s University.

TS DOST 2026 Eligibility Criteria
TS DOST 2026 is open to students who have passed the Intermediate (Class 12) examination. There is no entrance exam. Admission is based on merit — the percentage of marks you scored in Intermediate determines your rank, and seat allotment follows from that rank combined with your web options.
Nationality and Domicile
- Candidates must be Indian nationals
- Both Telangana residents and students from other states can apply. Local candidates (those who studied from Class 6 onwards within a particular university area) get preference for 85% of seats in that university’s affiliated colleges. The remaining 15% are open to all candidates.
Qualifying Examination
- You must have passed the 2-year Intermediate Examination conducted by the Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE), or an equivalent Class 12 examination from CBSE, ICSE, or any other recognised state board
- Diploma holders in Engineering, Technology, or Non-Engineering courses recognised by SBTET, Telangana, are also eligible for relevant programmes
- Candidates who appeared for the Telangana Intermediate Supplementary Examination 2026 were allowed to register for Phase 3 (registration deadline extended to June 21, 2026). Their seat allotment is conditional on passing the supplementary exam
Minimum Marks Requirement (Course-wise)
| Course | Minimum Eligibility |
|---|---|
| BA, BCom, BBA, BCA, BSW, BTTM | Pass in Intermediate — any stream accepted |
| BSc (Science streams) | 40% aggregate in the relevant science subjects in Intermediate |
| BSc — SC / ST category | Pass in the relevant science subjects (no 40% minimum) |
| B.Com (Hons) / Integrated UG-PG | As specified in the individual programme notification on dost.cgg.gov.in |
Age Limit
TS DOST 2026 does not prescribe a minimum or maximum age limit for UG degree admission. Most affiliated colleges follow this open-age policy, but you should check individual college norms for any exceptions.
How Merit Rank Is Determined
Since there is no entrance exam, your merit rank in TS DOST 2026 is based entirely on the percentage of marks you scored in the Intermediate qualifying examination in the relevant subject group. For BA and BCom, the overall Intermediate aggregate is used. For BSc, only the marks in the specific science subject combination are considered. Candidates with the same percentage are ranked using tiebreakers such as age or year of passing.
TS DOST 2026 Registration and Application Process
The TS DOST 2026 registration is entirely online at dost.cgg.gov.in. All three phases follow the same steps: Aadhaar-based pre-registration, form filling, document upload, fee payment, and web options submission. Phase 3 registration closed on June 21, 2026. No fresh registrations are accepted at this stage — new applications will only be possible if TGCHE opens a Special Phase window, expected in mid-July 2026.
Step-by-Step Application Process
- Step 1 — Pre-Registration via Aadhaar: Visit dost.cgg.gov.in and click "Student Registration." Authenticate with your 12-digit Aadhaar number. You will receive a DOST ID and a 6-digit PIN on your Aadhaar-linked mobile number. These credentials work across all phases — you do not register again for Phase 2 or 3.
- Step 2 — Fill the Application Form: Log in with your DOST ID and PIN. Enter personal details, Intermediate marks, stream, and contact information. Aadhaar-linked fields like your name and date of birth cannot be edited.
- Step 3 — Upload Documents: Upload scanned copies of your Intermediate marksheet, Aadhaar card, SSC certificate, and category certificate if applicable. The portal specifies file format (PDF or JPG) and size limit for each document.
- Step 4 — Pay the Registration Fee: Pay online through the DOST portal using net banking, debit card, or UPI. The fee is non-refundable.
- Step 5 — Submit and Download Acknowledgement: Submit the application and download your application confirmation receipt. Keep it safe for reference during document verification and physical reporting.
TS DOST 2026 Registration Fee
| Phase | Registration Fee |
|---|---|
| Phase 1 | ₹200 |
| Phase 2 | ₹200 |
| Phase 3 (Standard) | ₹400 |
| Special Phase | To be announced |
SC and ST candidates may be eligible for a fee concession or waiver. Check the current DOST notification on dost.cgg.gov.in for the latest fee rules applicable to your category.
TS DOST 2026 Web Options: How to Fill
Web options are the college and course preferences you submit after registration. The DOST system uses your preferences along with your merit rank to allot a seat. The more carefully you fill your web options, the better your chances of getting the college and course you actually want. For the Special Phase, a fresh web options window will open when the phase begins.
How to Fill TS DOST Web Options
- Log in to dost.cgg.gov.in with your DOST ID and 6-digit PIN
- Click on "Web Options" for the active phase
- Browse colleges by university, district, course type, or college type (government / aided / private)
- Add colleges and courses to your preference list — put your most preferred combination at the top
- There is no upper limit on the number of choices you can add
- Save your list and revise as many times as needed before the window closes
- Submit your final choices before the deadline — only the last saved version is used during seat allotment
Smart Tips for Web Options in TS DOST
- More options, better chances: Students who submit only 3–5 choices face a high risk of getting no seat. Aim for 20–30+ options across different college types to maximise allotment chances.
- Balance your list: Put your most-wanted (competitive) colleges first, then mid-range options, then private colleges as a safety net lower in the list. Never skip adding backup options even if they are not your preference.
- Check live seat availability: The DOST portal shows available seats per course and college in real time. Use this information before finalising your list each phase.
- Account for your category: If you belong to SC, ST, or BC, your competition is within your category’s reserved seats, not the full seat count. The effective cutoff for reserved categories is meaningfully lower than OC at most colleges.
- Consider fees and location: Government and aided colleges charge much lower annual fees (₹1,000–₹5,000 range). Private unaided colleges may charge ₹10,000–₹50,000+ per year. Factor in hostel availability and travel distance when ranking choices.
TS DOST 2026 Seat Allotment
TGCHE conducts seat allotment after each phase’s web options window closes. The system ranks all candidates in merit order within each category, then matches them to their highest-preference available seat. The Phase 3 allotment was released on June 20, 2026. The Special Phase allotment will follow in July.
How to Check TS DOST 2026 Seat Allotment
- Visit dost.cgg.gov.in
- Click "Candidate Login" and enter your DOST ID and PIN
- Navigate to "View Allotment" or "Seat Allotment Result"
- If a seat has been allotted: download and print the allotment order, then proceed with online self-reporting (window closes July 2) and physical reporting (window closes July 4)
- If no seat was allotted: check the DOST portal from mid-July 2026 for the Special Phase notification
TS DOST 2026 Phase-wise Seat Allotment Summary
| Phase | Allotment Date | Self-Reporting Window | Physical Reporting Window | Status |

TS DOST 2026 Cutoff
TS DOST 2026 does not publish a fixed official cutoff list ahead of time. The effective cutoff emerges from each phase’s seat allotment — it is the minimum Intermediate percentage of the last candidate admitted in each college, course, and category during that phase. Because top-scorers fill seats in Phase 1, the effective cutoff drops meaningfully from Phase 1 to Phase 2, and further in Phase 3.
TS DOST 2026 Indicative Cutoff — Phase 1, Top Government Colleges
The figures below represent approximate minimum Intermediate percentages for the most competitive government degree colleges in Hyderabad (such as Nizam College) in Phase 1 of 2026. These are the highest cutoffs in the entire DOST process; most other colleges — especially those outside Hyderabad — have considerably lower cutoffs even in Phase 1.
| Stream / Subject Group | Phase 1 Approximate Cutoff (Top Govt. Colleges, Hyderabad) |
|---|---|
| Physical Science (MPC / PCM) | ~99.50% |
| Life Science (BiPC / Biology) | ~99.50% |
| Commerce and Management (CEC / MEC) | ~99.50% |
| Arts and Humanities (HEC / Humanities) | ~99.40% |
Key Points About TS DOST 2026 Cutoff
- The figures above apply only to Hyderabad’s most competitive government colleges. Government colleges in smaller districts and all private colleges have significantly lower cutoffs, even in Phase 1.
- Phase 2 and Phase 3 cutoffs are lower because top-ranking candidates have already confirmed seats in Phase 1. Students who missed Phase 1’s preferred allotments had a genuine second and third chance in later phases.
- Reserved categories (SC, ST, BC) have lower effective cutoffs than OC for the same college and course. Category reservation means a smaller, less-competitive pool for each reserved seat block.
- For BSc programmes, the cutoff is calculated on science subject marks only — not the overall Intermediate aggregate. A student with 80% overall but 95% in MPC subjects ranks above a student with 90% overall but only 88% in MPC, for BSc allotment purposes.
- Full college-wise and course-wise cutoff data for each phase is published on dost.cgg.gov.in as part of the phase-wise allotment result.
Documents Required for TS DOST 2026
You must carry original documents when you go for physical college reporting (active now through July 4, 2026). Photocopies alone are not accepted. Carry all originals plus two sets of self-attested photocopies of each document.
| Document | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Aadhaar Card (Original) | Identity and address verification |
| SSC (10th) Marksheet and Pass Certificate | Proof of date of birth and secondary schooling record |
| Intermediate (12th) Marksheet and Pass Certificate | Qualifying exam proof and marks verification for merit rank |
| Transfer Certificate (TC) | Release from the previous institution (junior college) |
| Migration Certificate | Required if you passed from a board outside Telangana (non-TSBIE) |
| Caste / Category Certificate | Required for SC, ST, BC-A/B/C/D/E, and EWS candidates |
| Income Certificate | For fee reimbursement and scholarship eligibility |
| Conduct Certificate | From your previous institution |
| DOST Allotment Order (Printed) | Proof of Phase 3 seat allotment from dost.cgg.gov.in |
| Online Self-Reporting Acknowledgement (Printed) | Proof that you completed Step 1 online |
| Passport-size Photographs (2–3 copies) | For college records, admission register, and student ID card |
SC, ST, and BC category candidates must carry a valid caste certificate issued by a competent authority of the Telangana State Government. Caste certificates from other state governments are generally not accepted for TS DOST admissions in Telangana.
TS DOST 2026 Reservation and Category Policy
TS DOST 2026 follows the reservation policy of the Government of Telangana. Seats in every participating college are distributed across social categories. Candidates in reserved categories compete only with others in the same category for the reserved portion of seats, which is why the effective cutoff for reserved categories is lower than for OC.
Category-wise Reservation in TS DOST 2026
| Category | Reservation |
|---|---|
| OC (Open Category / Unreserved) | Open merit — highest competition; no reserved quota |
| BC-A (Backward Classes — A) | 7% of seats |
| BC-B (Backward Classes — B) | 10% of seats |
| BC-C (Backward Classes — C) | 1% of seats |
| BC-D (Backward Classes — D) | 7% of seats |
| BC-E (Backward Classes — E) | 4% of seats |
| SC (Scheduled Caste) | 15% of seats |
| ST (Scheduled Tribe) | 10% of seats |
| EWS (Economically Weaker Sections) | 10% of seats (as per Telangana norms) |
| PH (Persons with Disabilities) | 5% horizontal reservation across all categories |
| Women’s Reservation (Horizontal) | Minimum 33.33% of seats in each course |
| NCC / Sports / CAP | Designated horizontal reservation with certificate requirement |
- Local area reservation applies separately: local candidates of a university area get preference for 85% of seats in that university’s affiliated colleges. The remaining 15% are open to all candidates.
- A BC candidate who also holds a valid PH or NCC certificate can benefit from horizontal reservation within the BC quota.
- Government-run women’s degree colleges in Telangana have 100% of seats for women across all courses and categories.
- SC and ST candidates need to submit valid caste certificates at physical reporting to avail the category reservation benefit.

Verify which specific subject combination is available at your preferred college on the DOST portal before submitting web options.
TS DOST 2026 Special Phase
After Phase 3 physical reporting closes on July 4, 2026, some seats will remain vacant — from candidates who did not report, or from colleges that received no web options in any phase. TGCHE fills these vacant seats through a special phase. This is a well-established practice: in the 2025 cycle, the special phase ran from July through September 2025.
Who Can Apply in the Special Phase?
- Candidates who were not allotted a seat in any of the three regular phases (Phase 1, 2, or 3)
- Candidates whose Phase 3 admission was conditional (for example, Intermediate supplementary students) and whose condition was not met
- Fresh candidates who did not register in Phases 1, 2, or 3 — the special phase opens fresh registration
Candidates who were allotted a seat in Phase 3 but lost it due to non-reporting are NOT eligible for the special phase. The special phase is only for candidates who were never allotted any seat in any of the three regular phases.
What to Expect
- When: Expected from mid-July 2026, after Phase 3 reporting ends on July 4. Exact dates will be announced on dost.cgg.gov.in. Based on the 2025 pattern, look for an announcement around July 7–15, 2026.
- Seats available: Only those left vacant after Phase 3 reporting. Top government college seats in Hyderabad are rarely available in the special phase since they fill in Phase 1. Better prospects exist at government colleges in smaller districts and at private colleges.
- Process: Usually involves fresh web options entry on the DOST portal, followed by spot admission rounds at individual colleges and management quota fills at private colleges.
- How to stay updated: Check dost.cgg.gov.in from July 5, 2026 onwards, or subscribe to updates on the official WhatsApp helpline at +91 7901002200.
New Changes in TS DOST 2026
TS DOST 2026 introduced several important updates compared to the 2025 cycle. Here is what changed this year and why it matters to students.
1. Seat Expansion — 4.20 Lakh Seats (13% More Than 2025)
TS DOST 2026 increased the total seat capacity to more than 4.20 lakh seats — a 13% increase over the 2025 cycle. This is the single largest year-over-year expansion in the programme’s history. More seats mean lower effective competition ratios across most colleges and course combinations, particularly outside Hyderabad.
2. Two New Universities Joined the System
JNTUH (Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad) and Veeranari Chakali Ilamma Women’s University are part of TS DOST for the first time in 2026. Their addition brought engineering-stream degree programmes and a dedicated women’s higher education institution into the centralised DOST pool, expanding both programme variety and geographic reach.
3. 5-Year Integrated UG-PG Programmes — First Time in DOST History
The 2026 cycle is the first to include 5-year Integrated UG-PG programmes. These combine a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree into a single five-year curriculum. Students who choose these programmes complete both UG and PG in five years instead of the usual six (three years UG + two or three years PG separately). This is directly aligned with the National Education Policy 2020’s push for integrated, multidisciplinary degree structures.
4. Phase 3 Extended to Include Supplementary Exam Students
TGCHE extended the Phase 3 registration deadline to June 21, 2026 to include students who sat for the Telangana Intermediate Supplementary Examination 2026. In previous years, these students often missed the DOST window entirely because supplementary results arrived after the main phases closed. This extension ensures that students who pass the supplementary exam are not locked out of degree admissions for the entire year.
TS DOST 2025 vs TS DOST 2026 — Comparison
| Parameter | TS DOST 2025 | TS DOST 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Total Seats | ~3.72 lakh | 4.20 lakh+ (13% increase) |
| Participating Colleges | ~900+ | 978+ |
| Affiliated Universities | 7 | 9 (JNTUH and Veeranari Chakali Ilamma added) |
| 5-Year Integrated UG-PG | Not available | Introduced for the first time |
| Phase 3 Supplementary Eligibility | Limited inclusion | Formally extended to all Supplementary 2026 candidates |
FAQs About TS DOST 2026
Ques. What is the last date for TS DOST 2026 Phase 3 physical college reporting?
Ans. The last date for Phase 3 physical college reporting is July 4, 2026. The window opened on June 27, and today (July 1) is the fourth day. You must visit the allotted college in person with all original documents before July 4. Missing this deadline permanently cancels your seat — there is no extension and no appeal.
Ques. When does the Phase 3 online self-reporting window close?
Ans. The Phase 3 online self-reporting window closes tomorrow, July 2, 2026. Log in to dost.cgg.gov.in with your DOST ID and 6-digit PIN, go to the "Self-Reporting" section, accept your allotment, and download the acknowledgement slip. You must complete online self-reporting before visiting the college for physical reporting.
Ques. When do TS DOST 2026-27 academic classes start?
Ans. Regular academic classes for TS DOST 2026-27 admitted students began today, July 1, 2026, across all participating colleges. Students who completed the reporting process should be attending their college from today. Students who still have time in the Phase 3 reporting window (until July 4) should complete reporting as quickly as possible to avoid missing more class days.
Ques. What happens if I miss Phase 3 physical reporting in TS DOST 2026?
Ans. If you miss the July 4, 2026 deadline for Phase 3 physical reporting, your allotted seat is permanently cancelled and cannot be restored. Your TS DOST 2026 registration is also permanently closed — you cannot apply in the Special Phase or any further round for 2026-27. The vacated seat returns to the pool and becomes available in the special phase for other candidates.
Ques. Is there an entrance exam for TS DOST 2026?
Ans. No. TS DOST 2026 does not conduct any entrance exam — no written test, aptitude test, or interview. Admission is entirely based on your Intermediate (Class 12) marks. The higher your Intermediate percentage in the relevant subjects, the higher your merit rank and the better your chances of getting a preferred college in the early phases.
Ques. When will the TS DOST 2026 Special Phase begin?
Ans. The TS DOST 2026 Special Phase is expected to begin from mid-July 2026, after Phase 3 physical reporting closes on July 4. Based on the 2025 pattern — where the special phase ran from July through September 2025 — look for an official announcement on dost.cgg.gov.in around July 7–15, 2026. Only candidates who were never allotted a seat in any of the three regular phases are eligible to apply in the special phase.

The allotment order for such candidates is marked as provisional.
Ques. What is the minimum percentage needed for BSc admission through TS DOST 2026?
Ans. For BSc admission through TS DOST 2026, you need a minimum of 40% aggregate marks in the relevant science subjects in your Intermediate examination (for example, Maths + Physics + Chemistry for BSc MPC). This 40% is calculated on science subjects only, not your overall Intermediate aggregate. SC and ST candidates are exempt from the 40% minimum — they only need to pass the relevant science subjects.

Ans. Yes. Candidates from other states can apply for TS DOST 2026. They are considered under the non-local (unreserved) category and can compete for the 15% of seats in each college open to all candidates regardless of origin. They are not eligible for Telangana state category reservations (SC, ST, BC, EWS) unless they hold valid Telangana state certificates.
The information on this page is based on data available from official and publicly accessible sources as of July 1, 2026. Dates, fees, and schedules are subject to revision by TGCHE.
