What is MDUCEE 2026?
The Maharshi Dayanand University Common Entrance Exam (MDUCEE) is a state-level postgraduate entrance exam conducted by Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak, Haryana. MDU has been conducting this exam every year to provide a merit-based route into PG programs across multiple Haryana universities. MDUCEE 2026 was conducted in offline (pen-and-paper) mode from June 10 to June 16, 2026.
MDU Rohtak, established in 1976 under the Haryana State Legislature Act, is one of the oldest teaching and affiliating universities in Haryana. It acts as the nodal university for MDUCEE and coordinates admissions for seven participating state universities through a common merit list and counselling process. You only need to appear for one exam to get a chance at admission to any of these seven universities.
The question papers are bilingual (English and Hindi) and are set at UG level for the respective subject group. Separate papers are conducted for each subject group — Life Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Forensic Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Food Technology. A candidate appears only for the paper relevant to the program they wish to join.

MDUCEE 2026 Exam Pattern
The MDUCEE 2026 exam pattern is straightforward. The paper has 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) for 100 marks, to be answered in 75 minutes. There is no negative marking, which is a key change from the 2025 exam that had a -0.25 penalty per wrong answer.
| Particulars | Details |
|---|---|
| Exam Mode | Offline (Pen-and-Paper / OMR Sheet) |
| Total Questions | 100 |
| Total Marks | 100 |
| Duration | 75 minutes (90 minutes for M.Sc Forensic Sciences only) |
| Marks per Correct Answer | +1 |
| Negative Marking | None (0 marks for wrong or unattempted answers) |
| Language | English and Hindi (Bilingual) |
| Question Type | MCQs — 4 options each |
| Answer Submission | OMR sheet — fill bubbles with blue or black ballpoint pen |
MDUCEE 2026 has no negative marking — a change from 2025 which had -0.25 for wrong answers. This means every unanswered question is a missed scoring opportunity. Attempt all 100 questions to maximize your score.
Subject-Wise Paper Groups in MDUCEE 2026
MDUCEE 2026 is not a single common paper for everyone. The exam is conducted as separate papers for different subject groups. You appear for the paper matching the program you want to join. Each paper has 100 questions from UG-level topics in that subject.
| Paper Group | Programs Covered |
|---|---|
| Life Sciences | M.Sc Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Environmental Sciences |
| Mathematics | M.Sc Mathematics, M.Sc Applied Mathematics |
| Physics | M.Sc Physics, M.Sc Electronics |
| Chemistry | M.Sc Chemistry, M.Sc Industrial Chemistry |
| Forensic Sciences | M.Sc Forensic Sciences (90-minute paper) |
| Pharmaceutical Sciences | M.Pharm |
| Food Technology | M.Sc Food Technology, M.Sc Food Science and Technology |
You receive one question booklet and one OMR answer sheet in the exam hall. Darken the correct bubble completely on the OMR using a blue or black ballpoint pen. Multiple marks or overwriting on the OMR may result in that answer being rejected by the scanner.

MDUCEE 2026 Cutoff
The MDUCEE 2026 cutoff will be released program-wise and category-wise after each counselling round. The cutoff is the minimum score at which seats were filled in a given round. Since the MDUCEE 2026 result has not been declared yet, the actual cutoff is not available. The figures below are based on previous year (2024 and 2025) trends and serve as a reference for your self-assessment.
The MDUCEE 2026 cutoff has not been released. The data below reflects previous year closing scores and is for reference only. Actual 2026 cutoffs will depend on paper difficulty, total candidates, and the seat matrix.
Expected MDUCEE 2026 Cutoff — Based on Previous Year Trends
| Program | General / AIO (Expected) | OBC / BC (Expected) | SC (Expected) |
|---|---|---|---|
| M.Sc Life Sciences | 62–68 marks | 52–62 marks | 28–38 marks |
| M.Sc Biotechnology | 65–72 marks | 55–65 marks | 30–40 marks |
| M.Sc Chemistry | 30–38 marks | 24–32 marks | 14–22 marks |
| M.Sc Physics | 40–50 marks | 32–44 marks | 18–28 marks |
| M.Sc Mathematics | 34–44 marks | 26–36 marks | 10–18 marks |
| M.Sc Forensic Sciences | 60–68 marks | 50–60 marks | 22–32 marks |
| M.Sc Food Technology | 55–65 marks | 45–56 marks | 20–30 marks |
| M.Pharm | 62–70 marks | 52–62 marks | 28–38 marks |
Factors That Affect MDUCEE Cutoff
- Paper difficulty: A tougher paper pushes the overall score distribution down, lowering the cutoff. Since MDUCEE 2026 has no negative marking, average scores may be slightly higher than in 2025, which could push the cutoff up modestly.
- Number of applicants: More candidates competing for the same seats raises competition and typically raises the cutoff.
- Available seats: If total seat intake increases, the cutoff may fall slightly.
- Category: SC / ST and OBC candidates have lower cutoffs than General due to reservation. In 2024, SC cutoffs for M.Sc Mathematics were as low as 11 marks.
- University preference: Cutoffs for MDU Rohtak’s main campus departments are typically higher than for other participating universities, since most candidates prefer Rohtak.
MDUCEE 2026 Marks vs Rank
The MDUCEE 2026 marks vs rank data helps you estimate your expected rank based on the score you obtained. Since MDUCEE 2026 removed negative marking, average scores may be slightly higher than 2025. The rank table below is based on previous year trends and is for reference only — the official merit list will confirm actual ranks after result declaration.
| Score Range (Out of 100) | Expected Rank (Approx.) | Admission Outlook |
|---|---|---|
| 85 and above | Top 10–20 ranks | Very high chance for any program at MDU Rohtak campus |
| 75–84 | Rank 20–60 | Good chance for top programs at major participating universities |
| 65–74 | Rank 60–150 | Likely to get admission in most programs in the pool |
| 55–64 | Rank 150–300 | Admission likely but first-choice program or university may not be available |
| 45–54 | Rank 300–500 | Depends on seat availability and category; reserved category candidates have better odds |
| Below 45 | Rank 500 and above | Admission possible for SC / ST / OBC candidates through reservation roster |
In MDUCEE, the merit list is prepared separately for each paper group (Life Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, etc.). Your rank is within your paper group, not across all candidates in MDUCEE 2026. The Life Sciences pool is typically larger than Physics or Mathematics, so the same score gives a higher rank in a smaller pool.
The official merit list with accurate ranks will be published on mduadmission.samarth.edu.in after result declaration, expected around June 24–25, 2026.
MDUCEE 2026 Counselling Process
The MDUCEE 2026 counselling is expected to begin around June 25–30, 2026, following result and merit list declaration. MDU conducts counselling in up to 4 rounds — 3 online rounds and 1 physical spot round for seats still vacant after the online rounds.
MDUCEE 2026 Counselling Rounds
| Round | Mode | Expected Timeline |
|---|---|---|
| Round 1 | Online | Late June / Early July 2026 |
| Round 2 | Online | July 2026 |
| Round 3 | Online | July 2026 |
| Round 4 — Physical / Spot Round | Physical (at MDU Rohtak) | July 2026 (for vacant seats only) |
Step-by-Step MDUCEE 2026 Counselling Process

MDUCEE 2026 Preparation Tips
The MDUCEE 2026 June cycle exam has concluded. These tips are useful for candidates preparing for a future MDUCEE cycle or similar PG entrance exams in Haryana.
- Focus on NCERT and standard UG textbooks: MDUCEE questions are set at UG level for the relevant subject. Your standard UG textbooks — such as Campbell Biology for Life Sciences, Atkins for Chemistry, or Griffiths for Physics — are the best foundation. For Life Sciences, NCERT books are especially useful since many MCQs are directly NCERT-based.
- Solve previous year MDUCEE question papers: Papers from 2021 to 2025 give you a clear picture of difficulty level, topic weightage, and question style. Certain topics repeat every year — these are your high-priority areas. Previous year papers are available on the official MDU website.
- Attempt all 100 questions — no negative marking in 2026: Since MDUCEE 2026 has no penalty for wrong answers, never leave any question blank. Even a random guess gives a 25% chance of a correct answer. In 2025, with -0.25 negative marking, leaving blanks was sometimes strategic — but not in 2026.
- Practice speed — 45 seconds per question on average: You have 75 minutes for 100 questions. That works out to 45 seconds per question on average. Regularly practice MCQs under timed conditions to build the habit of moving quickly through known topics and spending a bit more time only on tough ones.
- Make topic-wise revision notes: Create concise notes for each topic — definitions, key formulas, important reactions, and processes commonly asked in MCQs. These notes are especially valuable for the last-week revision before the exam.
- Daily MCQ practice: Solve at least 50 to 100 MCQs every day during your preparation period. This builds both speed and accuracy. Start with topic-wise question banks, then shift to mixed full-length mock papers in the last two weeks.
- Revise thoroughly in the final week: Do not start any new topics in the last week before the exam. Revise your notes, solve full-length mock tests, and focus extra time on areas where you keep making errors.
