ICSE Class 9th Syllabus: Detailed Analysis
With addition to the English and Indian Language courses, CISCE has reduced the syllabus for other 15 subjects including History, Civics, Geography, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry etc. The reduced syllabi will be made available on the official website of CISCE under the Publications tab.

ICSE Class 9th English Syllabus
The English subject of ICSE Class 9th will comprise two papers:

English Paper 1 – English Language
This paper will be composed of 5 compulsory questions where the students will be asked to write:
- 300-350 words long Composition from the choice provided.
- A letter of choice between a formal or an informal mode.
- Notice for a scenario or an E-mail for the situation provided.
- Short answer questions based on an unseen prose passage of 450 words.
- Short answer questions to test Grammatical Knowledge.
English Paper 2 – English Literature
This paper will be composed of 5 Questions based on the prescribed textbooks. The paper will contain Drama and Prose, where questions will be asked only from the text followed by Poetry, where the poem or excerpts from the poem will be provided for students to write their response for.

ICSE Class 9th Mathematics Syllabus
Class 9th Mathematics paper will be a single paper of 2 hours and 30 minutes long. The paper is divided into two sections of 40 marks each where Section 1 will include short questions all compulsory and Section 2 will include 7 questions out of which students can solve any 4.
