Manipur Board has released class 10th and 12th Exam Pattern 2023 on their official website. Students can download it in the form of PDF files. It is important for the students to be aware of the exam in which they are appearing. Manipur Board class 10th exam will be held from March 16 to April 3, 2023 and 12th exam will be held from February 23 to April 1, 2023.

Manipur Board Class 10 Exam Pattern
In class 10 there are four compulsory subjects including English as the compulsory language paper. The fifth subject is elective and candidates can select it from the available options. It is necessary to secure passing marks in both optional and compulsory subjects in order to pass the examination. Students can elect language papers as fifth/sixth subject from the available language options.

Manipur Board Class 10 Marking Scheme
The total marks of the paper shall be 100. In order to pass, students need to secure 33 marks out of 100 in all the subjects. Also, an aggregate mark of 33% is necessary to pass the exam. If any student secured 33% aggregate marks but less than 33% in a subject then he/she shall appear in the supplementary examination. The criteria is the same for compulsory as well as optional subjects.
Students will be classified into the following divisions based on their marks out of 500 (600 in case of students with an additional subject)
- 1st Division: 330 marks and above
- 2nd Division: 225 marks and above, but below 300
- 3rd Division: 165 marks and above, but below 225
Marks of the Mathematics practical and Science practical shall also be considered for pass, division and rank.
Compulsory and Elective Subjects
The compulsory subjects that the students are required to study are First language, Second language (English), Mathematics, Science, Social Sciences, Work Experience and Health and Physical Education.
The First Language can be chosen from the following: Manipuri, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Mizo, Paite, Hmar, Ruangmei, Tangkhul, Nepali, Zou, Thadou-Kuki, Kom, Vaiphei and Mao. In place of the First Language, students may take up Additional English, Elementary Manipuri and Elementary Hindi.
Students can take up one additional subject, if they want to, out of the following:
- Hindi (for the students who have not taken it up as the First Language)
- Home Science
- Commerce
- Computer Science
- Higher Mathematics

Marks Distribution for Practical and Written exams
The 10th grade subjects that include practical education along with theory are Science and Mathematics. There are separate exams conducted for theory and practical assessments. The marks distribution has been tabulated below:

Manipur Board Class 12 Exam Pattern
The Council of Higher Secondary Education plans the syllabus and conducts the examinations for classes XI and XII. The exams are conducted in the months of February and March every year and the results are released by the month of May. In class 12 the syllabus will be reduced in line with CBSE and NTA pattern. The syllabus for national level competitive examinations like JEE Main and NEET are likely to be reduced as the candidates have lost precious time during the pandemic. The aspirants of such exams shall carefully tally the syllabus of the two exams and prepare accordingly. However, none of the authority has made any announcement regarding the reduction of syllabus yet.

Manipur Board Class 12 Marking Scheme
The overall marks of one subject shall be 100. For subjects that also require practical assessment, the mark distribution shall be divided (70 for Theory and 30 for Practical) and the total will still remain of 100 marks.

Optional and Compulsory subjects
The subjects for study include English, one of the modern Indian languages and three elective subjects. The subjects chosen in class XI will continue till class XII and students will not be allowed to change their subjects in class XII.
