M.Phil. (Social Work) is a 2 years full time graduate course that is divided into 4 semesters. This course focuses on building an advanced social research and analytical skills. Aim of this course to provide an understanding of the discipline of social work through specific thematic theorizations, theoretical reports, and a complex understanding of the field to enable a framework. This course uses multi method and trans-disciplinary training to prepare students as future leaders in education and social work research.

Students should have minimum qualification of master’s or an equivalent degree in the stream of arts or social work by a recognized university. They should score an average of 55% or a grade point 6.0 for 10 point scale in their master’s degree.

Selection for this course is based on the performance of students in an entrance exam conducted by the colleges or universities.

Most common entrance exam are:

  • RAT (Research Aptitude Test)
  • NET

Students should attend and clear this entrance exam. Personal interview is followed by entrance exam. Comparing the exam results, performance in interview, and marks obtained in their degree students will be selected for the admission in this course.
