The process of UCalgary is intense, sometimes involving personal statements for competitive courses such as Engineering and Medicine. MRU emphasizes portfolios and practical skills for Arts and Business, appealing to students wanting an inquiring entry into university. International students are welcomed at both institutions, with a better yield from UCalgary due to its reputation.
