AIMC PGD Advertising & Marketing Communication FAQs
Ques. What is the difference between the PG Diploma in Advertising and Marketing Communication at AIMC and a regular MBA in Marketing?
Ans. The PG Diploma in Advertising and Marketing Communication at AIMC is a 1-year, specialised, AICTE-approved programme focused exclusively on the advertising and marketing communication industry. Unlike an MBA in Marketing, which covers broad business management topics, this course provides deep, practical training in advertising strategy, media planning, copywriting, client servicing, digital marketing, and brand management. It is taught by industry professionals and includes live projects and workshops. The 1-year duration also makes it faster and more cost-effective than a 2-year MBA.
Ques. Are students with 60% marks in graduation exempted from the entrance test at AIMC?
Ans. Yes. Students with 60% and above aggregate marks in graduation (or those in their final year with 60%+ marks in the first two years) are exempted from the Common Entrance Test (CET) and qualify for direct admission through a Personal Interview. For students with 50-59% marks, the CET comprises two sections: General Awareness and Current Affairs (50 marks) and Subject-specific Knowledge about the chosen specialisation (50 marks). The CET is conducted at the AIMC campus and select locations across India.
Ques. What career opportunities are available after completing this course, and which companies recruit from AIMC?
Ans. Graduates can pursue careers as Brand Managers, Copywriters, Client Servicing / Account Executives, Media Planners, Media Buyers, Market Research Analysts, Digital Marketing Executives, and Visualizers / Graphic Designers. AIMC has 100+ media recruiters visiting the campus, including leading advertising agencies, digital marketing firms, PR companies, and media houses. The institute has an excellent placement record year after year, making it one of the most sought-after mass communication institutes in Delhi NCR.
Ques. Can I pursue higher studies after completing this 1-year PG Diploma at AIMC?
Ans. Yes. Upon successful completion of the 1-year PG Diploma, students are eligible for direct lateral entry into the 2nd year of MA in Journalism and Mass Communication at Apeejay Stya University (UGC-recognised), in accordance with UGC's Choice Based Credit System. This allows students to earn a full MA degree by studying for just one additional year, effectively saving one year compared to a regular 2-year MA programme.
Ques. What is the fee structure and payment schedule for this course?
Ans. The total course fee is Rs. 2,90,000, payable in two instalments: Rs. 1,75,000 (1st instalment) and Rs. 1,15,000 (2nd instalment). Additionally, a refundable security deposit of Rs. 5,000 is collected, making the grand total Rs. 2,95,000. The application form fee is Rs. 900. If a student withdraws before the commencement of the course, the entire fee is refunded after deducting a processing fee of Rs. 1,000. Students are advised to confirm the fee structure for 2026-27 with the admissions office.
Ques. What is the location of AIMC, and are there hostel facilities available?
Ans. AIMC is located at Apeejay Campus, Sector-8, Dwarka Institutional Area, New Delhi - 110077. Dwarka is a well-connected area in Delhi with easy access to the Delhi Metro (Blue Line and Green Line). The institute does not mention hostel facilities on its official website.
