FAQs on Pearl Academy West Campus M.Des Interior Design

Straight answers to what students ask before they decide.

Is M.Des Interior Design at Pearl Academy worth the fee?▾
Yes, if you want a design job with the brands and studios it works with. The full fee without hostel is INR 12.81 Lakhs for two years, and the fee rises every year. Pearl Academy does not publish an average pay for this course, so ask the placement cell for the last interiors batch before you pay.
What job will I get after this course?▾
Most students become interior designers, set designers, hospitality space designers or design consultants. Livspace, Fabindia, Bluestone and AVA Design Studio are among the recruiters Pearl Academy names for this course. Some graduates open their own studio. Build your portfolio around the kind of work you want, because recruiters hire on it.
Should I take this course if my degree is not in design?▾
Yes, the course takes graduates from any stream. Year 1 starts with design elements, construction and home and retail spaces, so you learn the basics first. You still need a portfolio for the 30 minute interview, so start drawing and making small projects now.
Who should not take this course here?▾
Skip it if you need a hostel on the campus or a fixed fee for both years. There is no campus hostel, and the partner hostel costs about INR 3.15 Lakhs a year. The fee also rises every year. If either of these is a problem, compare the other colleges in the block above before you decide.
Is the placement record good for interior design students?▾
It is good across the college, but no interiors figure is published. 99% of the last batch was placed across all courses, and the INR 26 LPA top offer went to a product designer. Ask the placement cell which companies hired the last interiors batch, and at what pay.
Should I choose the Delhi-West campus for this course?▾
Yes, if you want the biggest class. Delhi-West has 30 of the 60 seats across four campuses, so this campus has the most students and projects. The fee is the same table for all campuses. If you plan to work in Delhi, studying here also helps you meet studios in the city.
Is this course good if I want to start my own studio?▾
Yes, it can help. Year 2 covers furniture, building systems, set design and hospitality spaces, and you finish with a capstone portfolio. That portfolio is what you show your first clients. Take the internship seriously, because it shows you how a real studio works.
Should I wait a year before I apply?▾
Only if your portfolio is not ready. Each phase has its own test and interview, and the offer comes phase by phase. The fee also rises every year, so waiting costs more. If your work is ready, apply in phase 1 of the 2027 batch.
How do I get admission to this course?▾
Apply online and pick a phase. You then sit the 90 minute GPT and DAT online and a 30 minute interview on your portfolio. A NIFT, NID or UCEED shortlist skips the written test. Pay the one-time fee and semester 1 fee by the offer date, or you lose the seat.
What is the full fee for the course?▾
The full two-year fee is INR 12.81 Lakhs without hostel. With the partner hostel it comes to INR 19.11 Lakhs. You pay INR 2.99 Lakhs each semester and a one-time fee of INR 85,000 in year 1. Check the fee block above for the latest table.
Can I get a scholarship for this course?▾
Yes, the Who's Next scholarship takes 20% to 100% off the semester fee. Pearl Academy gives it on your test, interview and portfolio, and you do not fill a separate form. You keep it only if your grades stay up, so plan to study well in year 1.
Is there a hostel for M.Des students?▾
There is no hostel on the campus. UniLiv manages a partner hostel in Rajouri Garden, on twin sharing with meals, for about INR 3.15 Lakhs a year. Rooms go first come, first served, so book through the student portal as soon as you get the offer.
