MRU BCA FAQs
Ques. Can students from Commerce or Arts background apply for BCA Cloud Computing at MRU?
Ans. Yes, absolutely. Unlike B.Tech programmes that require PCM in Class 12, the BCA in Cloud Computing at MRU is open to students from ALL streams - Science, Commerce, and Arts/Humanities. The only requirement is passing Class 12 with at least 50% marks in aggregate in 5 subjects. This makes it an excellent option for non-Science students who are interested in technology and want to build a career in cloud computing without having studied Mathematics or Physics in Class 12.
Ques. What Google Cloud certifications can students pursue during this programme?
Ans. Through MRU's partnership with Google Cloud, students get access to Google Cloud's learning resources and can pursue certifications such as Google Associate Cloud Engineer, Google Professional Cloud Architect, Google Professional Data Engineer, and Google Cloud Digital Leader. These are globally recognised certifications that significantly enhance employability. Students also get exposure to AWS and Microsoft Azure platforms, enabling them to pursue AWS Certified Solutions Architect and Microsoft Azure Fundamentals certifications as well.
Ques. What is the difference between BCA Cloud Computing and BCA FinTech at MRU?
Ans. Both are 3-year BCA programmes at MRU, but they differ in specialisation. BCA Cloud Computing (in association with Google Cloud) focuses on cloud infrastructure, cloud security, DevOps, data analytics in cloud, and AI/ML in cloud. BCA FinTech (in association with KPMG) focuses on financial technology, digital payments, blockchain in finance, and financial analytics. Both programmes are open to students from all streams. The choice depends on whether you want to build a career in cloud technology/IT infrastructure or in the financial technology sector.
Ques. What is the 3+1 structure of the BCA Cloud Computing programme at MRU?
Ans. The core BCA programme is 3 years (6 semesters). The "+1" refers to an optional additional year of industry immersion, where students can undertake an extended internship or industry project with a cloud computing company. This 4th year is not mandatory but provides students with deeper industry exposure and a stronger resume before entering the job market. The 4th year is typically structured as a paid or unpaid industry internship, and students who opt for it graduate with a BCA degree along with significant hands-on industry experience.
Ques. What are the job roles and salary expectations after BCA Cloud Computing from MRU?
Ans. Graduates can work as Cloud Solutions Architects, Cloud Security Specialists, Cloud Engineers, DevOps Engineers, Cloud Consultants, and Cloud Application Developers. Entry-level salaries typically range from Rs. 3.5-6 LPA, depending on skills, certifications, and the employer. With 2-4 years of experience, professionals can earn Rs. 8-12 LPA or more at reputed tech firms. The highest package offered to BCA Cloud Computing graduates at MRU has reached Rs. 10 LPA. Sectors hiring cloud professionals include IT, banking, healthcare, e-commerce, telecom, and government digital initiatives.
Ques. Is prior programming knowledge required to join BCA Cloud Computing at MRU?
Ans. No prior programming knowledge is required. The programme is designed to cater to students with or without a background in computer applications. The foundational coursework in Semester 1 and 2 covers C Programming, Object-Oriented Programming with Java, Data Structures, and Database Management Systems from scratch, building a strong base before moving into cloud-specific subjects. Students from non-Science backgrounds may find the initial programming courses challenging, but the structured curriculum and faculty support ensure that all students can progress effectively.
