Ques. What is the minimum duration of the Ph.D. Pharmacy program?
Ans. The minimum duration of the Ph.D. program is 3 years for full-time scholars. However, the actual duration may vary depending on the research progress and thesis completion. The maximum duration is 6 years, with possible extensions for female candidates and persons with disability.
Ques. What is the Ph.D. Entrance Test (PET) and how is it conducted?
Ans. The Ph.D. Entrance Test (PET) is conducted by Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University. Candidates must score minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC/EWS) to be eligible. The final selection is based on 70% weightage for PET score and 30% weightage for interview performance.
Ques. What are the research specializations available in Ph.D. Pharmacy?
Ans. The Ph.D. program offers research in multiple specializations including Pharmacognosy, Pharmaceutics, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, and Pharmaceutical Analysis. Faculty supervisors are available in each specialization with specific research thrust areas.
Ques. What scholarships are available for Ph.D. students?
Ans. Multiple national and state-level scholarships are available including UGC-JRF, CSIR-JRF, INSPIRE, AICTE-ADF, DBT-JRF, and state-level scholarships (BARTI, SARTHI, AARTI, MAHAJYOTI). Stipends range from Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 35,000 per month with additional research grants.
Ques. What laboratory facilities are available for research?
Ans. The college has well-equipped research laboratories with advanced instruments including HPTLC System, GC, AAS, UV Spectrophotometer, Freeze Drier, FT-IR, Microwave Synthesizer, Stability Chamber, and other specialized equipment. Animal house and herbal garden facilities are also available.
Ques. What is the course work requirement for Ph.D. students?
Ans. Ph.D. students must complete 12 credits of course work within 15 weeks. The course work includes Research and Publication Ethics (2 credits), Research Methodology (2 credits), Project/Case Study (4 credits), Review Paper (2 credits), and Orientation Course (2 credits). Minimum 55% marks in course work is required to continue in the program.
