Nalanda Research Institute College, affiliated with Patliputra University, Patna, requires applicants to have completed their 12th grade and submit an online application for admission. In 2017, a student with a First Class in the Intermediate exam was admitted to the B.Sc. Honours in Physics program through a merit list. The faculty is well-qualified, with each member holding at least a master's degree. Despite a high faculty-to-student ratio of 1:80, the college provides additional support through Saturday doubt-clearing classes.
The annual fee is approximately 25,000 Rupees, but the college operates on a Public-Private Partnership model, offering free education for girls and Scheduled Tribes/Castes students. There are no structured job placements or internships available, primarily due to limited government support. Nevertheless, students can access government scholarships of up to 25,000 INR per annum based on caste, status, and family income, with some receiving up to a 60% fee concession. The college has kept tuition fees stable over the years, but students largely attend for academic purposes rather than placement assistance.
