CHM B.Com FAQs

Ques. What is the difference between aided and unaided B.Com at CHM College, and how do I know which one I am admitted to?

Ans. CHM College offers both aided (government-funded) and unaided (self-financing) B.Com programmes. The aided programme has a significantly lower fee (Rs. 16,299 total) compared to the unaided programme (Rs. 18,900 total). Admission to the aided programme is based on merit, and seats are limited. Students admitted to the aided programme are informed at the time of admission. In-house students (from CHM's junior college) are given priority for aided seats.

Ques. Can students from Science or Arts stream apply for B.Com at CHM College?

Ans. Yes, students from any stream (Science, Commerce, Arts) who have passed Class 12 with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for reserved category) are eligible to apply for B.Com at CHM College. However, Commerce stream students are generally preferred as the curriculum is commerce-oriented. Students from other streams may need to study additional foundation subjects in the first year.

Ques. What professional courses can I pursue alongside B.Com at CHM College?

Ans. B.Com students at CHM College can simultaneously pursue professional courses such as CA (Chartered Accountancy), CMA (Cost and Management Accountancy), CS (Company Secretary), CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), and ACCA. The college also offers certificate courses in Tally, Soft Skills Development, and other vocational programmes.
