The college offers admissions for its geology program following the completion of the HSC examination, requiring applicants to submit their applications on the day results are announced. It is among the few colleges in Tamil Nadu that provide a geology course. Admission is based on marks obtained in higher secondary school. The faculty consists mainly of Ph.D. scholars who are experts in fields like geomorphology and mineralogy, committed to delivering quality education and fostering student growth.
The college's fee structure is regulated by the government, perceived as affordable by some, yet it has seen an increase since 2019. Placement training is conducted in the program's final year, with participation from companies in the banking and geology sectors. In 2019, four students were recruited by a hydrology company in Karur. For geology students, a master's degree is essential for securing employment. The college supports students with various state and central government scholarships but does not offer loan facilities.
Scholarships include Rs. 10,000 for students scoring 80% and above in their higher secondary exams, Rs. 4,000 for minority students, and Rs. 7,000 for SC/ST students.
