Ques. Is the ISI Six Sigma Master Black Belt certification recognized by industry?
Ans. Yes, the ISI MBB certification is highly recognized in Indian industry. ISI is an Institution of National Importance, and its Six Sigma certifications are accepted by leading manufacturing and service organizations. Many ISI-certified MBBs work in top companies like Tata, Mahindra, L&T, and public sector undertakings.
Ques. Do I need to be a certified Black Belt before applying for the MBB programme?
Ans. Yes, it is mandatory to be a Certified Black Belt from a recognized body (such as ASQ, ISI, Motorola University, etc.) before applying for the MBB programme. Additionally, at least 5 years of experience in guiding improvement projects is required.
Ques. Is the MBB certificate awarded immediately after the training and MCQ test?
Ans. No. After passing the MCQ test (minimum 70%) and completing the assignment, you receive an Enrolment Certificate. The final MBB certification is awarded only after you submit a report on guiding/mentoring at least 5 process improvement projects and complete 120 hours of related training, all within one year of enrolment.
Ques. Can I attend the programme online, or is classroom attendance mandatory?
Ans. The programme is available in online mode (conducted via Microsoft Teams or Zoom). ISI Mumbai and other SQC & OR units offer online batches, making it convenient for working professionals across India to attend without relocating.
Ques. How many batches are conducted per year for the MBB programme?
Ans. Typically, 2-3 batches are conducted per year across various ISI units (Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Pune). The exact schedule varies each year and is announced on the respective ISI unit websites.
Ques. What is the difference between the ISI Delhi MBB and the ISI Mumbai MBB programme?
Ans. Both are offered by the SQC & OR Unit of ISI and follow the same curriculum and certification standards. The ISI Mumbai online batch (Batch-19, April-May 2026) costs Rs. 59,000 (inclusive of GST), while ISI Delhi's fee is Rs. 47,200. The mode, schedule, and faculty may differ slightly between units, but the certification carries equal recognition.
