SBCC BCCA FAQs
Ques. What is the difference between B.Com (General) and B.Com (Computer Applications) / BCCA at Shri Binzani City College?
Ans. B.Com (General) is a traditional commerce programme covering accounting, economics, business law, and management. B.Com (Computer Applications) or BCCA is a specialised programme that combines commerce subjects with computer science, including programming languages (C, C++, Java, Python), database management, web designing, Tally ERP, cloud computing, and AI & ML. BCCA graduates have a dual advantage of commerce knowledge and IT skills, making them eligible for both finance/accounting roles and IT-related jobs. The fees for BCCA are higher than B.Com General due to the laboratory component.
Ques. Is the BCCA programme at Shri Binzani City College available in Marathi medium?
Ans. No, the BCCA programme is offered only in English Medium on a Non-Grant (self-financed) basis. The college started this programme in 2003-04 with government and university approval specifically for English medium students. Students who prefer Marathi medium can opt for the B.Com (General) programme, which is available in both English and Marathi medium.
Ques. What is the NSM scholarship for BCCA, and how is it applied?
Ans. The NSM (Nagpur Shikshan Mandal) scholarship is a college-level benefit available to BCCA students. It reduces the gross fees by Rs. 5,000 in Year I, Rs. 4,000 in Year II, and Rs. 4,000 in Year III, bringing the total net payable from Rs. 62,412 to Rs. 49,412 over 3 years. This scholarship is applied directly at the time of fee payment and does not require a separate application. Students from reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/VJNT/SBC/EBC) can additionally avail of government scholarships through the MahaDBT portal, which waive the tuition and laboratory fee components.
Ques. What career opportunities are available after completing BCCA from Shri Binzani City College?
