Admission to the college is managed through a counseling process by Anna University, based on 12th standard marks. The faculty is supportive, though some are less communicative. Exams are conducted each semester, with internal and model exams. The college offers placements with known companies, though opportunities are limited in mechanical and civil departments. The Indian Navy recently recruited from the college. Internships and placements are viewed as inadequate, with students often required to find paid internships themselves.
Scholarships are available for economically disadvantaged and minority students, but some students have not received them despite being eligible. The college supports educational loans. The annual college fee is 40,000, reduced by 28,000 for first graduates. Additional fees include admission (5,500), development (1,000 for college and hostel), hostel (80,000), books (5,000-7,000), exams (around 6,000, depending on arrears), no due (600), and celebration fund fees (2,000-3,000). The Civil department's tuition fee is 55,000 annually, with 1,000 for admission and 250 for development fees.
Scholarships for SC/ST/BC students help maintain an affordable fee structure.
