SAHE Ph.D. CSE FAQs
Ques. What are the research areas available for Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering at SAHE University?
Ans. The CSE department at SAHE University offers Ph.D. research in the following areas as per the official 2026-27 brochure: Cyber Security, Network Security, Networks, Optimization Techniques, Generative AI, Computer Vision, Machine Learning and Deep Learning Applications, Software Reliability, Cyber Physical Systems, Cloud Technologies, Wearable Technologies, Bioinformatics, High Performance Computing, Soft Computing, and related emerging areas. The department has a dedicated K.V. Rao Centre for Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics (inaugurated December 2025) and an AR/VR/XR Laboratory, providing specialized infrastructure for research in these domains. Candidates are advised to identify a potential research supervisor aligned with their area of interest before applying.
Ques. Is the Ph.D. in CSE at SAHE University open to MCA graduates or only M.Tech graduates?
Ans. Yes, the Ph.D. in CSE at SAHE University is open to a wider range of qualifications beyond just M.Tech. Specifically, candidates with MCA & M.Tech (CSE/IT) or M.Sc. (Maths/Computer Science) & M.Tech (CSE/IT) are also eligible, provided they meet the minimum marks criteria of 60% aggregate (or CGPA 6.5/10) for General category. This makes the program accessible to candidates who have pursued MCA followed by M.Tech in CSE/IT, or those with a science background who have subsequently completed an M.Tech in a relevant field. Pure MCA graduates without an M.Tech are not eligible for the Ph.D. in Engineering category.
Ques. What is the fellowship amount and what are the conditions for receiving it as a Ph.D. CSE scholar at SAHE University?
Ans. Full-time Ph.D. scholars at SAHE University receive a fellowship of INR 35,000 per month for 3 years, extendable to a 4th year based on the Doctoral Committee's recommendation. The fellowship is available only for full-time scholars admitted under the fellowship category and requires the scholar to work on campus throughout the research program. Scholars must submit monthly status reports and attend Research Advisory Committee (RAC) meetings periodically. The fellowship is subject to satisfactory research progress as evaluated through progress reviews. Self-financed full-time and part-time scholars are not eligible for this fellowship.
Ques. What specialized labs and infrastructure are available for Ph.D. CSE research at SAHE University?
Ans. The CSE department at SAHE University has several specialized facilities for research: the K.V. Rao Centre for Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics (inaugurated December 2025), an AR/VR/XR Laboratory, an Innovation Hub, a Central Server Room, and a dedicated Department Library. The department also has 25 active MoUs with industry partners including Google, providing access to industry-grade tools and platforms. The department has 6 active startups incubated within the department, reflecting a strong innovation culture. These facilities support research in areas such as cybersecurity, AI/ML, computer vision, cloud computing, and immersive technologies.
Ques. How does the Ph.D. in CSE at SAHE University compare to other Ph.D. programs in CSE in Andhra Pradesh?
Ans. SAHE University's CSE department has a strong research profile with funded projects worth INR 2.047 crores, 18 granted patents, 612 publications, and 25 industry MoUs. The institutional fellowship of INR 35,000/month is competitive among private deemed universities in Andhra Pradesh. The university is ranked #151-200 by NIRF 2024 under Engineering. However, since the Ph.D. program in CSE was only started in 2024, it is relatively new compared to established programs at institutions like NIT Warangal, JNTUK, or IIT Tirupati. Candidates seeking a more established Ph.D. program with a longer track record may consider those institutions, while SAHE University offers the advantage of a strong industry-connected environment and a competitive fellowship.
Ques. What career paths are available after completing a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from SAHE University?
Ans. A Ph.D. in CSE from SAHE University opens up several career pathways. Graduates can pursue academic positions as Assistant Professors or Associate Professors at engineering colleges and universities, which typically require a Ph.D. as per UGC norms. In the industry, Ph.D. holders in CSE are sought for research scientist, AI/ML researcher, data scientist, and senior engineer roles at companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and semiconductor firms. Government research organizations such as DRDO, ISRO, BARC, and C-DAC also recruit Ph.D. holders in CSE. Additionally, graduates can apply for post-doctoral fellowships at IITs, IISc, or international universities to further strengthen their research profile before transitioning to academia or industry research roles.
