SAHE B.Tech Lateral CSE FAQs
Ques. As a lateral entry student at SAHE University, will I be at a disadvantage compared to regular B.Tech students in placements?
Ans. Lateral entry students join the 3rd semester directly and complete the same curriculum as regular B.Tech students from that point onwards. At SAHE University, placement drives are open to all eligible final-year students regardless of whether they joined through lateral entry or regular admission. The CSE department has a strong placement record with companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Infosys, and TCS visiting regularly. However, lateral entry students miss the first-year foundation courses, so it is advisable to self-study subjects like Engineering Mathematics, Physics, and basic programming covered in the first year to stay competitive.
Ques. Is AP ECET mandatory for lateral entry admission to B.Tech CSE at SAHE University, or can I apply directly?
Ans. AP ECET rank is the primary criterion for lateral entry admissions at SAHE University. Category A seats (70%) are filled by the Government of Andhra Pradesh through AP ECET counselling, while Category B seats (30%) are filled by the institution. If seats remain unfilled after all rounds of AP ECET counselling, SAHE University fills them through direct/spot admissions based on diploma merit (minimum 50% marks). So while AP ECET is strongly recommended, direct admission is possible for unfilled seats. You can register at admissions.siddhartha.edu.in for spot admissions.
Ques. What is the actual number of lateral entry seats available for B.Tech CSE at SAHE University?
Ans. As per AICTE norms, lateral entry seats are supernumerary and capped at 10% of the approved intake. The approved intake for B.Tech CSE at SAHE University is 420 seats, which means up to 42 lateral entry seats are available. Additionally, any unfilled first-year seats can also be added to the lateral entry pool. The exact number of available seats for a given year is notified at the time of AP ECET counselling.
Ques. Does SAHE University offer any scholarships specifically for lateral entry students, and how do I apply?
Ans. Yes, SAHE University's merit scholarships are applicable to lateral entry students as well, based on the same criteria (SEEE rank, JEE percentile, or APEAPCET rank). For CSE, scholarships range from 25% to 100% of the annual tuition fee of Rs. 2,50,000. Scholarships are limited to 30% of the intake and are allotted on a first-come, first-served basis at the time of admission. To avail the scholarship, you must apply at the time of joining through admissions.siddhartha.edu.in. Continuation requires maintaining 75% attendance and 7.5 CGPA without backlogs in subsequent years.
Ques. What diploma branches are eligible for lateral entry into B.Tech CSE at SAHE University?
Ans. Candidates with a Diploma in Computer Science & Engineering, Information Technology, or closely related branches of engineering with a minimum of 50% marks are generally eligible for lateral entry into B.Tech CSE. The exact list of eligible diploma branches is specified in the AP ECET notification each year by APSCHE/JNTU Anantapur. Candidates should verify their branch eligibility in the official AP ECET 2026 instruction booklet available at cets.apsche.ap.gov.in before applying.
Ques. Is hostel accommodation guaranteed for lateral entry B.Tech CSE students at SAHE University?
Ans. SAHE University has hostel facilities for 725+ students with separate hostels for boys and girls. The university states that 100% accommodation is provided for girl students. For boys, accommodation is subject to availability. Lateral entry students are eligible to apply for hostel accommodation, but it is not guaranteed and is allotted on a first-come, first-served basis. Hostel fees are charged separately and are not included in the tuition fee. Students are advised to apply for hostel accommodation at the earliest after securing admission.
