Ques. What is the difference between regular MCA and MCA Lateral Entry?
Ans. Regular MCA is a 2-year program starting from the first semester, while MCA Lateral Entry is a 1.5-year program starting from the second semester. Lateral entry is designed for BCA graduates and students with relevant qualifications. Both programs follow the same curriculum from the second semester onwards and have equal placement opportunities.
Ques. Who is eligible for MCA Lateral Entry at KSRCE?
Ans. Candidates with a BCA degree from a recognized university or equivalent qualification are eligible. The minimum aggregate marks required is 50% for general category candidates and 45% for reserved category candidates. A valid TANCET score is mandatory for admission.
