Ques. What is the difference between regular B.Tech and B.Tech Lateral Entry?
Ans. Regular B.Tech is a 4-year program starting from the first year, while B.Tech Lateral Entry is a 2-year program starting from the third semester (second year). Lateral entry is designed for diploma holders and students with relevant qualifications. Both programs follow the same curriculum from the third semester onwards and have equal placement opportunities.
Ques. Who is eligible for B.Tech Lateral Entry at KSRCE?
Ans. Candidates with a diploma in any branch from a recognized polytechnic or a Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university are eligible. The minimum aggregate score of 40% in the qualifying examination is required. A valid TANCET score is mandatory for admission.
Ques. What is the total duration and fees for B.Tech IT Lateral Entry?
Ans. The total duration is 2 years (4 semesters). The total academic fees is Rs 1.74 lakhs. An admission fee of Rs 15,000 is adjusted against total fees. Hostel fees are optional at approximately Rs 1.15 lakhs for the entire duration.
Ques. Are placement opportunities the same for lateral entry students?
Ans. Yes, lateral entry students have equal placement opportunities as regular B.Tech students. The average annual package is 3 lakhs. Placement training begins from the first semester for lateral entry students. More than 2,000 students have been successfully placed in various IT companies.

Ans. Internship opportunities are available throughout the program starting from the first semester.
