Ans. B.Tech Lateral Entry is a 3-year program designed for diploma holders, while regular B.Tech is a 4-year program for 10+2 pass students. In lateral entry, students skip the first year and directly join the second year, covering advanced topics from the second year onwards. The curriculum is the same from the second year onwards, so lateral entry students study the same subjects as regular B.Tech students in their final two years. Both programs have similar placement opportunities and average packages. Lateral entry is ideal for diploma holders who want to pursue engineering without repeating the first year.

Ans. Candidates must have a valid diploma in engineering or technology from a recognized polytechnic with minimum 50% aggregate marks (45% for reserved categories). A valid IPU-CET score is mandatory for admission. Candidates should be at least 17 years old at the time of admission. The admission is purely merit-based, and candidates are allotted seats based on their IPU-CET rank and diploma performance during counselling.

Ans. BMIET offers 12 seats for B.Tech Lateral Entry Computer Science & Engineering specialization. Additionally, 3 seats are available for B.Tech Lateral Entry Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning) specialization. The total intake for lateral entry programs is limited, so candidates should apply early and perform well in IPU-CET to secure admission.

Ans. The total tuition fee for B.Tech Lateral Entry Computer Science & Engineering is INR 3,70,000 for the 3-year program. The first year fee is INR 1,30,000, and the second and third year fees are INR 1,20,000 each.
