Ans. The six-semester programme covers Sanskrit grammar (Paninian and Vedic), classical Sanskrit literature including poetry, drama, and prose, Sanskrit philosophical texts, metre (Chandas), and Indian literary criticism under the KNU syllabus. Later semesters include translation exercises, unseen passages, and a research paper or project to develop scholarly skills in the language.

Ans. Candidates must have passed Class 12 from a recognised board with at least 45 percent aggregate marks. Students who have studied Sanskrit at the school level have a useful foundation; those without prior exposure may find the Honours workload demanding.
