Ques. Does Himalayan College of Nursing have its own entrance exam for B.Sc Nursing?
Ans. Yes. SRHU conducts its own nursing entrance examination for B.Sc Nursing admissions at HCN Dehradun. Shortlisting is based on both the SRHU entrance exam score and performance in the 10+2 qualifying examination. The college does not depend on NORCET or any state-level nursing entrance exam for its B.Sc Nursing intake.
Ques. What is the total fee for B.Sc Nursing at HCN Dehradun and are there scholarships?
Ans. The total programme fee is INR 8,22,240 over four years. The first-year fee is INR 2,52,240, followed by INR 1,90,000 for each subsequent year. Merit scholarships of up to 100% of tuition are available for students scoring 90% or above in 10+2. Uttarakhand domicile candidates additionally receive a 25% rebate on annual fees.
Ques. What is the minimum eligibility for B.Sc Nursing at Himalayan College of Nursing?
Ans. Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English from a recognised board, with a minimum 45% aggregate in these subjects. SC/ST/OBC candidates need a minimum of 40% aggregate. The candidate must be at least 17 years old as on December 31 of the admission year.

Ans. Yes. B.Sc Nursing students at HCN receive clinical training at HIHT Medical College and Hospital, located on the SRHU campus in Dehradun. This integrated setup allows nursing students to gain direct bedside experience across multiple medical specialties without requiring off-campus hospital attachments during the programme.
Ques. How many seats are available in B.Sc Nursing at HCN and is there a reservation policy?
Ans. HCN Dehradun offers 145 seats in its B.Sc Nursing programme. Of these, 30% are reserved for Uttarakhand domicile candidates, who also receive a 25% annual fee rebate. The remaining seats are open to candidates from across India who meet the INC-mandated eligibility criteria.
Ques. Can orphan or differently-abled students get fee waivers for B.Sc Nursing at SRHU?
Ans. Certified orphan students are eligible for a complete fee waiver covering 100% of the programme fee for the entire four-year duration at HCN. Differently-abled students and wards of non-commissioned officers are also covered under SRHU’s special scholarship provisions. Applications are submitted through the SRHU admissions portal at the time of enrolment.
