- The Master of Applied Science in Chemical and Biological Engineering is a 2-year program at the University of British Columbia(UBC).
- This program consists of both coursework and thesis.
- Students learn about the transformation of raw materials into valuable products by chemical, biochemical, physical or electrochemical processes, as well as energy generation (bio, electro, and thermo).

- The number of students enrolled in this program is 37 to 45.
- Several faculty members have won national and international recognition for their research contributions and students have gone on to become leaders in industry and academia in Canada and abroad.
- This program prepares students for employment directly after completing the degree or to pursue further studies in a Ph.D program.
- Students with a background in Engineering will receive a Master of Applied Science degree whereas students without Engineering background will receive a Master of Science degree.
- Chemical engineers are highly employable and there continues to be a growing demand for chemical engineers.
