- It is an on-campus program offered on a full-time basis only.
- Queen's has a rich and varied history in engineering and applied physics.
- Research in the group covers a wide range of topics, with the common theme of using basic science and physics to improve the quality of life and to solve current or future problems facing people both in Canada and worldwide.
- This research spans areas of photonics, quantum information technology, medical physics, non-destructive evaluation, materials physics, electronic device physics, and plasma physics.
- The programs allow student to avail the benefits of its cross-disciplinary aspects.
- Students also have the opportunity to work with medical students and researchers in the Medical Physics Research Group at the nearby Cancer Centre of Southeastern Ontario.
- Students can also engage in research at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Applicants must have a bachelor's degree in Engineering or Applied Science with a minimum second class standing from a recognized institution.
- A GPA of at least 3.3/4 (75% or B+ grade) is required to be eligible for the program.
Indian Student Eligibility:
- Students must complete an undergraduate degree with first-class in a relevant field from a highly ranked university in India.
- Or, students completed a master's degree with first-class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.

- Two Letter of Recommendation: Letter of recommendation (combination of professional and academic recommenders) which includes information about the student, their connection with the person they are recommending, their qualification, and the specific skills they have.
- Statement of Purpose: This statement must describe your qualifications and the objectives of your intended educational program.
- Personal Statement: Reasons or intentions for pursuing studies in this program, including a description of prior experience.
- Official Transcripts: Applicants who have attended and/or received degrees from institutions outside the US must provide certified copies and certified English translations of transcripts or records of all previous post-secondary education and of all degrees conferred.
- ELP Scores: Students have to submit their English language proficiency scores like IELTS, TOEFL, or other test scores.
