I chose University of Waterloo for its Computer Science faculty, being the best in North America. I also received offer from my desired program (Masters with thesis), as I wanted to delve deeper into research. University of Waterloo is also reputable in the industry as it produces bright technological savvy minds, and I aspired to be one. Life at UW will be memorable if you know how to balance fun and studies together. The town of Waterloo is a student friendly place, affordable food options, and parks nearby, mostly, everything is at a walking distance from campus, if not our bus ride is also free in Waterloo.
University of Waterloo is ranked #192 in Best Global Universities. Schools are ranked according to their performance across a set of widely accepted indicators of excellence. This is the best university for me . So that I choose this institute.
It has been quite good till now. I am still new here and learning the things around here. The university's infrastructure is what leaves me in awe.
It's been enjoyable and stressful at the same time. I need time to enjoy it fully as I have just arrived here.
It was a wonderful experience with extensive learning on technical and managerial skills. The courses are designed considering their application in current industrial setup which makes it very easy to adopt to corporate work environment for a fresh graduate. The other students are also competitive and there is a lot to learn from your peers as well.
The admission process included filling out a Supplementary Information Form(SIF). This form had questions related to work experience and educational background related to this course. Other than that, an IELTS score was required. There was no requirement for a GRE score. We also submitted 2 LORs(one professional and one academic) and an SOP. I prepared all the documents on my own. It took around 2-3 hours to fill out the admission form online.
I was also accepted to the University of Toronto along with 3 other US universities that I applied to (the University of Michigan; University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign); and the University of Wisconsin), but I chose the University of Waterloo over all of them mainly because of the co-op program. UWaterloo has a renowned co-op program that offers students something more important than compensation to help pay the tuition fees: up to 2 years of work experience upon graduation. I was accepted into both Computer Science and Computer Engineering (Honors and Co-op for each) programs at UWaterloo, with scholarships, but I chose the former because I felt it would be more aligned with my career interests. Furthermore, UWaterloo has an exceptional Math/Computer Science department that offers several options to pursue different interests in the broad field of CS, such as Specializations in AI, Software Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction, etc. There is a lot of flexibility in exploring different career options with the different kinds of degree plans and options thus making it the ideal choice for me.
The Best Engineering University in Canada, the best co-op program, very well respiration and education system.
Waterloo has a huge name in Software Engineering and AI. I wanted to work in an interdisciplinary field of SE and AI, so this place was the best fit for me. Furthermore, there is opportunities for good scholarships, lots of funds & grants, amazing professors in the field of SE, well structured programs, and top SE companies hire a lot of people from UWaterloo.
I chose this university because of its world-renowned engineering faculty and diversity. There are many specialization options in my program which will help me to focus on a particular field of study, i.e. AI/ML. Also, due to an enormous alumni network, there are many networking opportunities that can help in landing a job or an internship at good companies.
