- UWaterloo is considered best in Canada for engineering studies.
It was a wonderful experience with extensive learning on technical and managerial skills. The courses are designed considering their application in current industrial setup which makes it very easy to adopt to corporate work environment for a fresh graduate. The other students are also competitive and there is a lot to learn from your peers as well.
Course Curriculum
It is very up to date and close to industrial requirements.
Exams
My scores: GRE 326 verbal 156 quant 170, IELTS 8 reading 9 listening 9 speaking 7.5 writing 7.5, TOEFL 110/120. Yes, you require Sop detailing about your education, work experiences, projects, research work etc. and you need 2 LORs.
Placement
Post study placements are pretty decent, Toyota, Magna, GM, Ford, Linamar, Signode, etc. companies visited for the placements.
Fees
It depends on total no. of terms that you take to complete the course. Avg fees per term in CAD 15,000. Most students complete the course in 4 terms so the total fees for the program will be around CAD $60000.
Faculty
I do not know that exactly but we had a good ratio of faculty to students. We had roughly around 20 students in the class which is not very overwhelming for the faculty.
Campus Life
Beautiful campus, a lot of food options, great connectivity to nearby places.
Hostel
I rented a house with other Indian students whom I found on Facebook groups. The house was at a walkable distance from the university and we were paging $3000/month on rent which is a really good deal.
